About this experience

The Hanoi Vegetarian food tour. Try some of Hanoi's vegetarian cuisine. Vietnam has always had some good vegetarian food and now its getting quite popular, as it is in many parts of the world, and as such, many vegetarian restaurants have opened and become quite successful here in Hanoi with both locals and visitors while on the street and in the "normal" restaurants, vegetarian options are quickly becoming the norm on any menu. It comes in all flavors for all tastes as well. Some has been in the vegetarian's menus for a very long time while some meat substitutes and newer dishes invite those with more traditional palettes to come and try. This tour will explore both the new and old and we hope to please and surprise you with the many options now available. Vegetarian is not just rice and veggies anymore. Our foodie guides are anxious to share our animal-free discoveries. All are welcome anytime.

Great food & guide, the company could be more organised though

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐- 5 Stars for our tour guide Ginna. She was very knowledgeable and fantastic with our 2 year old son. If it wasn't for her I'd be giving a 1 star review for the company. We booked through Trip Adviser the morning of the tour and selected our meeting point as a Hotel (one of the two options they give on the drop down menu). We got to the hotel and they had no idea about any tour and told us we might have been scammed. Then we saw a sign for Crossing Vietnam Tours across the road upstairs. We knocked on the door and a startled man answered saying the Crossing Vietnam Tours office was actually around the corner and he couldn't help. When we finally found the office they had no record of our booking (even though it showed as confirmed on our end) and that they wouldn't be able to do a tour until 3 hours later. Instead we arranged to try again the next day at 10am, which was confirmed on WhatsApp, but when she asked for our hotel information she said they would pick up at 11am. At 10:07am I got a message from our guide saying she couldn't find us so we rushed to get ready. If you go with this company I would advise to book a few days in advance and double check/confirm the details. The food on the tour was delicious and guide was fantastic. We did only get a cyclo from our hotel to the first location and there was a fair bit of walking between locations, which we didn't expect. We didn't mind so much as it helped to work up an appetite but was a bit tricky with our 2 year old in tow. The guide also gave us some great recommendations of other food to try and things to do in Hanoi and when we go to Da Nang/Hoi An.

Lovely afternoon tour

We had a great tour led by Chi. She was perfect as explaining the origin of all the food and general culture in Vietnam. Thank you Chi. This was a walking tour with a velo cycle at the end.

A taste of Hanoi favourites - but don’t it on an empty stomach!

A last minute decision to go on the cycle food tour and I was rewarded with a yummy array of favourites. The food offerings were generous. Was lucky enough to get combined with a group doing train street so that made it even better. Great guides and good fun.

Small-Group Street Food Cyclo Tour of Hanoi Old Quarter: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Small-Group Street Food Cyclo Tour of Hanoi Old Quarter cost?

+

Prices start at $26 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Small-Group Street Food Cyclo Tour of Hanoi Old Quarter take?

+

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Small-Group Street Food Cyclo Tour of Hanoi Old Quarter worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 100 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Small-Group Street Food Cyclo Tour of Hanoi Old Quarter?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Small-Group Street Food Cyclo Tour of Hanoi Old Quarter suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Small-Group Street Food Cyclo Tour of Hanoi Old Quarter?

+

Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Small-Group Street Food Cyclo Tour of Hanoi Old Quarter start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

+

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
