    Terrible service

We waited for one hour, but the tour guide never showed up. We tried contacting the company by text, but they ignored our messages until someone in our group managed to find their actual phone number. The company then claimed it was our fault because we supposedly went to the wrong meeting location. However, our reservation clearly showed different meeting information, and they acknowledge their mistake. After we contacted them directly, they finally sent the tour guide. Our tour was scheduled for 2:00 PM, but the guide did not arrive until approximately 2:50 PM. If we had not found their real phone number and contacted them ourselves, I honestly don’t believe the guide would have shown up at all. Because of the significant delay, I had to cancel the tour due to other commitments. The company promised me a refund, but now they are giving me the runaround, and I still have not received my refund. This was extremely frustrating and unprofessional from beginning to end. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend avoiding this company and not purchasing tours from them.

Response from the operator: Dear Natalya, We sincerely apologize for the experience you had and fully understand your frustration. After reviewing what happened, we identified a discrepancy between the meeting point shown on your Viator booking and the operational information provided to our team. As a result, you and the guide received different information regarding the meeting location, which caused the confusion and delay in starting the activity. As soon as we identified the issue and established contact, we took the necessary steps to have the guide go to the meeting point indicated on your reservation. Unfortunately, by that time, the delay had already significantly affected your plans, and you were no longer able to participate in the tour. We recognize that this situation should not have happened, and we also regret the communication difficulties you experienced. At no point was it our intention to hold you responsible for an inconsistency in the meeting point information. After identifying the issue, we reviewed the product information and our confirmation procedures to prevent a similar situation from happening again. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and for the experience you had with us. Kind regards, The Luka Destinations Team

    I want a refund!

Make sure you get told to meet at the correct venue. I was given completely wrong information which meant I was not able to join this tour. This is breach of contract. I’ve asked for a full refund but only paltry sum has been offered so far. Not good customer care!

Response from the operator: Dear Robert, We sincerely apologize for what happened and fully understand your frustration. After reviewing the situation, we identified a discrepancy between the meeting point shown on your Viator booking and the operational information provided to our team. Unfortunately, different information was displayed on the platform for your reservation, while the guide followed the standard operational instructions. As a result, you received one meeting point while the guide received another, making it impossible for you to meet and join the tour. We recognize that this should not have happened and deeply regret the impact it had on your experience in Porto. As soon as we identified the issue, we reviewed the product information and our confirmation procedures to prevent a similar situation from happening again. We sincerely apologize for your experience and appreciate you bringing this inconsistency to our attention. Kind regards, The Luka Destinations Team

Skip-the-Line Lello Bookstore and Guided Porto Walking Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.

How much does Skip-the-Line Lello Bookstore and Guided Porto Walking Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Skip-the-Line Lello Bookstore and Guided Porto Walking Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.

Is Skip-the-Line Lello Bookstore and Guided Porto Walking Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (2.3/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Skip-the-Line Lello Bookstore and Guided Porto Walking Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Skip-the-Line Lello Bookstore and Guided Porto Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Skip-the-Line Lello Bookstore and Guided Porto Walking Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Skip-the-Line Lello Bookstore and Guided Porto Walking Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Porto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Douro Valley Small Group Tour: 2 Wineries, Lunch & River Cruise, Best of Porto Walking Tour Small Group Experience and Local Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Porto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Porto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What happens to Skip-the-Line Lello Bookstore and Guided Porto Walking Tour if the weather is bad?

    +

It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Porto. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.

What do travelers say about Skip-the-Line Lello Bookstore and Guided Porto Walking Tour?
