    Great Day in Sitka

Great, easy pickup from the port. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We were a little ahead of schedule but they were able to get us into the Bears early. A+ experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Brett for your feedback and for choosing Bumble Expeditions! Safe Travels!!

    Great time in Sitka

Had an amazing time in Sitka with our tour guide Rob. Rob was very knowledgeable as we learned so many interesting facts about the area. Price was very reasonable and was considered a bargain compared to the rates offered on our cruise excursions. Everything was perfect, just beware, Rob is a packer fan. lol

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your feedback and we are so happy that you enjoyed your time here in Sitka. Rob is a great guide but we honestly have no control over his football obsession! Thank you again!!! Sara

Taxi ride - OK and slightly Confusing

Selected this tour while in port for the day from a cruise. Basically was a van taxi for 6 ppl. Communication was thorough and prompt leading up to tour. Easy to find once off ship. Our driver was friendly. The tour itinerary was a little awkward and confusing. We visited fortress of the bears, which was nice, and included admission. All other parts of the tour were not great- a 2 min pit stop near a creek where bears have been spotted in the past (no bears seen, did not get out of car), a scrapyard turnoff where we got out of car and walked down to water and saw some fish jumping (also saw in town). After that, nothing else was offered. So we asked to make a pit stop at Sea Daddy’s, but owner was having fryer issues so was not serving food. Then we ended up being dropped off at a wood fire pizza place (after a wrong turn and backtracking) that was out of dough. So no food there, promptly left, but our tour was over so driver had left already. Luckily was near entrance of totem pole park- we walked about a mile through to get back into town. So the only actual stop that was memorable was fortress of the bears. Not sure what other itinerary options were available, because they were not suggested. So for the $1K price tag, would not recommend. Driver was friendly, but had only been in the area for less than a year so did not have a lot of info to share. I’m not sure if I should have come in with more ideas (was not asked) to make it more worthwhile.

    Great Experience

Honestly, I can not remember the name of our tour, but it was fabulous! Brett was our tour guide. He took us around d Sitka and took us to see the bears. We loved that it was a small group. It was our family and two others. We stopped and took pictures at various stops and learned all about Sitka. On our last stop my daughter broke her snowglobe that she bought at the bear sanctuary gift shop. She was sad because the bears were her favorite and she spent her own money to buy it. Today we received a package from Bumble Expeditions. They sent her a new snowglobe, a stuffed bear, and a Sitka pin. She was so surprised and so happy. We really appreciated that. These are good, caring people and we will book with them again if we ever have the opportunity to return to Alaska! Thank you, Bumble Expeditions!!

Sitka's Favorite Sites Private Land Tour up to 11 w/Meal option: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sitka.

How much does Sitka's Favorite Sites Private Land Tour up to 11 w/Meal option cost?

    +

Prices start at $1159 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sitka usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sitka's Favorite Sites Private Land Tour up to 11 w/Meal option take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sitka is not rushed.

Is Sitka's Favorite Sites Private Land Tour up to 11 w/Meal option worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Sitka, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sitka's Favorite Sites Private Land Tour up to 11 w/Meal option?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sitka's Favorite Sites Private Land Tour up to 11 w/Meal option suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sitka's Favorite Sites Private Land Tour up to 11 w/Meal option?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sitka can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sitka and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

What are the best things to do in Sitka?

    +

Sitka runs sea otter and whale quest boats, bear and raptor rescue centre visits, Tongass rainforest hikes, kayak paddles through the islands and Russian colonial history walks. On Outty we rank every Sitka experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include PREMIUM Sitka Scenic Tour, Best of Sitka Land Tour / Bears, Raptors, Totems, Guided Hike | TONGASS NATIONAL FOREST. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sitka?

    +

May to September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sitka?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
