Grand introduction and discovery of Zagreb

This is a great way to discover the rich history and visit main points of interest in Zagreb; and enjoy local produce visiting markets and restaurants through the journey of exploring the city. Karlo, the Bespoke Croatia tour guide is a great ambassador for Zagreb and Croatia. Through storytelling, you will find this tour relaxing and suitable for short and long stays in Zagreb. Karlo is very accommodating and provided a long list of tips and recommendations while staying in Zagreb.  Highly recommend starting with tour. Make sure to bring your appetite!!

Response from the operator: Dear Mark! We had a truly great day exploring Zagreb while tasting some amazing vegan food. I couldn't have picked a better companion for that day. The conversation was just flowing. Thank you again for writing this great review and will be looking forward to seeing you again in Croatia or even Australia! Kind regards, Karlo

A tasty, historical, and MEMORABLE tour!

Karlo is a guide for the ages! No one else signed up for my day so it ended up being a private tour: LUCKY ME. Truly, you sign up for a day tour but you really get SO MUCH MORE. That is thanks to Karlo and his individual tour company: bespoke-croatia.com -- Karlo curated a combo vegan and city tour; he was so knowledgeable about the sites and history of Zagreb and Croatia as a wholte that the food treats were a BONUS to the history and facts that he shared! Each place we stopped for a bite was carefully planned out, organized, and filled with rich history. I signed up for the vegan tour because I am a vegetarian while traveling (since I'm normally kosher) -- Karlo adapted the tour as we went and even added some olive oil tasting after I told him how much I love it! I also told him that I was Jewish and he had us walk by the site of the Zagreb synagogue and the plaque that still remains. He was so mindful and truly took care of me: the kind of guide that listens to his travelers and makes sure that their experience is memorable. I loved meeting his friend at a pumpkin seed oil stand in the Dolac market, and getting to taste two different oils. The midday snack was tasty at OAZA Joyful Kitchen, especially the mango lassi! I didn't mind that the funicular was closed because the walk up was not difficult... and seeing the unique murals once we got up to the Upper town were wonderful. The highlight food was our last vegan restaurant: Zrno bio bistro -- I had the Gomoku (sautéed brown rice and vegetables with farmmade tofu and handmade seitan served with a side of short-cooked leafy greens and farmmade pickles) -- IT WAS TOO MUCH TO EAT but I took it to go. Karlo was so friendly and awesome to hang out with that our tour lasted almost 8 hours. I could say by the end that Karlo was now my friend :) And though I was definitely zonked by the end, it was because of so much walking, talking, and eating...The sign of an incredible and memorable day. I cannot recommend this tour, Karlo or Bespoke Croatia Tours more!

Response from the operator: Dear Kayla, WOW! Thank you for such an extensive and beautifully written review. We had a lot of fun exploring Zagreb and tasting delicious vegan food. The eateries are carefully selected so they could fulfill all the vegan requirements. One of the requirements is also that the food is super tasty! Thank Kayla my friend! Until next time stay safe and wish you all the best. Kind regards, Karlo

Great tour and tasty vegan food

This tour was so much fun! We learned a lot about Zagreb and also got to try some amazing vegan food. The tour takes you all around the city center and is very informative. It's also quite a convenient way to find out where some of Zagreb's vegan eateries are located. As a vegan I really appreciate this kind of idea and I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.

Response from the operator: Dear Anisja, thank you for writing such an amazing review. It was a pleasure to lead you on this unique vegan tour. The idea for creating this kind of a tour came as something needed in a city like Zagreb. You stated it perfectly. It is meant to give an insight of the great vegan spots in Zagreb as well as of the places to hangout and relax + provide information of cultural and historical development of the city itself. Thank you once more for supporting and recommending this activity. I look forward of hosting you again. Until then, stay safe and be well. Kind regards, Karlo

An awesome walk around the center

We got to see and hear everything we wanted about Zagreb and its history - Karlo seems to know everything about the city's history and he tells it in an interesting way, complementing the raw stuff with folk stories and tidbits about Croatian greats who lived, worked and left their mark in Zagreb. The bites were fantastic, served in top-notch restaurants. They were happy to see us everywhere we went. The food was awesome - everything we tasted was delicious and the serving sizes were just right to give you the energy to carry on, but not to make you sleepy :) This is a great tour if you want to get complete bearings around the city. You will also hear where and when the current events take place (our tour took place before corona), you'll learn about museums and galleries, where to hang out and what to see after the tour. Great tour, highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Dear Bright, thank you for finding the time to write such a great review. It was an amazing experience to explore Zagreb landmarks while in the meantime tasting some amazing vegan dishes. Happy to hear that you enjoyed both. I totally agree and must praise the eateries and their professionalism. The food is simply delicious and very well presented. Thank you also for not falling asleep during the tour :) We definitely had fun. Let us know when we can again create memorable experiences. Until then, stay safe and be well. Kind regards, Karlo

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zagreb.

How much does Sites and Vegan Bites Food Walking Tour in Zagreb cost?

Prices start at $130 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zagreb usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sites and Vegan Bites Food Walking Tour in Zagreb take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zagreb is not rushed.

Is Sites and Vegan Bites Food Walking Tour in Zagreb worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Zagreb, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sites and Vegan Bites Food Walking Tour in Zagreb?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sites and Vegan Bites Food Walking Tour in Zagreb suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 16. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Sites and Vegan Bites Food Walking Tour in Zagreb?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zagreb can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zagreb and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Zagreb?

+

On Outty we rank every Zagreb experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Communism & Croatian Homeland War Tour, Zagreb Highlights: Old Town, WWII tunnels, Funicular & Tastings, Old Zagreb Private Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zagreb?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zagreb?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
