Superb Tailored Day Out
Sadly GetYourGuide crashed and I was unable to leave a review there so am writing it here. We had an absolutely brilliant time on this tour taking in the fine views and structures of the Pena Palace. Victor was a brilliant guide who went into great detail about the history and architecture of the palace as well as showing us how to take much better iPhone photos(!) . Having picked us up at our hotel (makes SUCH a difference) we drove up the mountain to Sintra and spent a good few hours there exploring. Afterwards he designed the rest of the trip along the amazing coastline from Praia da Adraga down to the Cabo da Roca and then South west of Azoia to the amazing Moinho Dom Quixote for lunch. There were many other things we did but don;t want to spoil the surprises for you. We then took in some breathtaking scenes of surfers at Guincho and the incredible Boca do Inferno since we had already visited Cascais. A superb individually tailored day out and cannot recommend highly enough. Worth every euro!

Excellent Driver, Disappointing Guide
We booked the full-day Sintra tour with Erij Victor and came away feeling disappointed. As a driver, he was excellent—he drove safely, the car was comfortable, the air conditioning was much appreciated during the heatwave, and he provided bottled water throughout the day. Unfortunately, the guiding aspect of the experience fell well short of our expectations. Due to the weather, Pena Palace was closed. Victor told us he had seen the closure the night before and confirmed it again that morning before picking us up. He asked us what we wanted to do instead. Since we weren't familiar with the area or the alternatives, we asked for his recommendations. He suggested a few places for us to Google, but then would mention they were in the opposite direction. We told him we trusted his judgment and had hired him to show us the best of the area, but surprisingly, he didn't seem to have a clear backup plan. We appreciate that Victor wanted to be flexible and accommodate our preferences, but that wasn't really what we were looking for. We hired him to be our guide, not just our driver. As visitors unfamiliar with the area, we were relying on his expertise to recommend the best alternatives and confidently adapt the itinerary when plans changed. We ended up walking around Sintra, but there was very little commentary or local knowledge shared along the way. It felt like the unexpected closure completely disrupted the tour, and there wasn't much adaptation. We were also supposed to visit Quinta da Regaleira, but Victor never advised us beforehand that tickets should be purchased in advance for a specific entry time. When he picked us up, he asked if we had already booked tickets. We hadn't, because we hadn't been told to. He then asked us to look up availability, but by the time we found open slots, he said the entry times were too late and decided we wouldn't go. As a result, we didn't visit any of the major palaces/castles that were supposed to be highlights of the tour. Throughout the day, Victor continued asking us what we wanted to do rather than providing guidance or recommendations. The one thing we repeatedly requested was lunch, but that didn't happen until much later because we made several beachside stops first. While the scenery was beautiful, we hadn't brought beach gear and, during a heatwave, weren't particularly interested in spending time at the beach. This seemed to surprise him. When we finally stopped for lunch, he didn't offer any restaurant recommendations or local insight. Instead, he simply told us there were plenty of options and asked us to let him know when we were finished. Overall, if you're looking for a comfortable private driver, Victor does a great job. If you already know the area well or have a clear itinerary in mind, he may be a good fit. However, if you're booking a guided tour, we expected much more in terms of planning, local knowledge, historical insight, and the ability to confidently adapt the itinerary when circumstances changed. Unexpected closures happen, but that's when a great guide should really shine. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience.

Great guide who makes you feel like a local!
He was amazing! He was also our personal photographer for the trip and took great pictures! He can speak Hindi, English, Spanish, Greek and Portuguese. Erij was knowledgeable and knew many hidden gems and shared them with us! I would highly recommend that you use him as a guide!

Highly, highly recommended... better than 5-stars!
This tour with Erij was fantastic! Even though it rained for part of the day, he made sure that we enjoyed every single minute of our tour. Erij is a wonderful tour guide...he's friendly, knowledgeable, polite, and very interesting. He's also very accommodating, and he takes excellent photos. When we arrived in Sintra, my husband and I decided not to go inside the Pena Palace or Quinta de Regaleira, as we didn't want to spend part of our day waiting for entry times. So, we purchased a Pena Park admission, and Erij guided us through the part of the Pena Palace that was included in this admission ticket. Erij then adjusted our plans to make the most of our day. We stopped at so many places on this tour, I can't name them all. The waves at Praia da Adraga beach were wild that day, and we had time to explore the beach. We walked around Cabo-da-Roca, which is the western-most point of Europe. Cascais was lovely. We also stopped to see Boca De Inferno, as well as surfers on the way back to Lisbon. I would highly, highly recommend this tour. It was the best day-tour we've ever taken!

Is Sintra Splendor and Cascais Coastline Full Day Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Sintra Splendor and Cascais Coastline Full Day Private Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
