Amazing Day
We had an amazing day trip to Sintra and Cascais! Fabio was an incredible tour guide — he was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the history and culture of Portugal. He shared so many interesting facts and stories throughout the day, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Fabio was also very professional, helpful, and made sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. He knew all the best spots and made the entire day feel relaxed and well organized. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal, especially if you want a guide who truly knows his stuff and makes the experience memorable. Thank you, Fabio, for an amazing day! 🇵🇹

Worth making the trip!
I absolutely loved this day trip. Our guide Benny really made the whole thing worth it. My friend and I were considering omitting this tour, to instead have another day to explore Lisbon, but we were SO glad we decided to go on the day trip. Benny was a lot of fun, super charismatic, easy to talk to, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. Knew, and could easily explain, so much about history, local culture, and anything else our entire group could have wanted to know. He definitely made the tour, but the beautiful locations definitely didn't hurt either! Sintra was honestly breathtaking, more than I expected, and Cascais was it's own type of stunning. We really felt it was worth making the trip, and would have been devastated to miss such an amazing tour. Highly recommend the tour, but also highly recommend Benny as a guide, if you can get him!

Amazing Day Trip to Sintra & Cascais
We had an amazing day trip to Sintra and Cascais! Sintra was incredible, especially Pena Palace, which offered breathtaking views and was truly an architectural wonder. Cascais was also a fantastic place to visit, with beautiful beaches, great scenery, and plenty of excellent restaurants and places to eat. I would definitely recommend taking a day out to experience both destinations while visiting Portugal. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

Great day despite the weather
Unfortunately the weather meant we missed out on many of the wonderful views that are probably one of the highlights of the trip but we still had a wonderful time. Our guide Orlando did his best to make the most of the day and ensured everyone had umbrellas. We ended up spending more time in Cascais as a result and the sun did eventually come out.

Why this scores 89
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sintra and Cascais Small-Group Day Trip from Lisbon: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Sintra and Cascais Small-Group Day Trip from Lisbon cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sintra and Cascais Small-Group Day Trip from Lisbon take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Sintra and Cascais Small-Group Day Trip from Lisbon worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 7,822 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sintra and Cascais Small-Group Day Trip from Lisbon?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sintra and Cascais Small-Group Day Trip from Lisbon suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sintra and Cascais Small-Group Day Trip from Lisbon?
+
Around 2,738 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sintra and Cascais Small-Group Day Trip from Lisbon start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
