    Beautiful wildlife boat experience

We had perfect weather June 10th , chilly but sunny and windy , but you can stay in the cabin warm and still see 360 view. Recommend holding onto your hat if you go on deck. lol. We had 10 in our party all had great time! Captain Jake and his crew were great. Informative and fun. We saw eagles, 2 brown bears, starfish. The stop at the homestead was great with salmon crackers , s’mores and coffee, campfire and stories. We loved getting close the water and exploring the property.

    Very nice but over priced.

Very nice experience, but heavily overpriced. Even though the experience was a very positive one , pricing does not make any sense, it’s far too expensive in relation to what you get.

    Great Staff! 😊

I just want to give a huge shoutout to the staff; my husband and I were just on an Alaskan cruise and we did this excursion. While the sites were absolute breathtaking, I did have a little mishap and I dropped my phone into the ocean…of course. The tour guides were all amazing though! They took a few pictures for us to send to my husband and they told us where we could find a local AT&T store so I could get a new phone. Without their help, I wouldn’t have had a phone for the entire rest of the cruise. They were very helpful and this excursion was great overall!

    Paddle the Siginaka Islands

Adventure Sitka keeps a private kayak launch site in the Siginaka Islands and guests are transported over via small boat to the site where fun guides lead paddling tours around the islands. Heather was a great guide for our small group and it was a great way to see another part of Alaska up close and personal!

The best part of our cruise!

This was the best excursion of our cruise. The views are stunning, the kayaks are super comfortable, the pick up at the pier/outfitting/transport to our drop in point were all super well organized, our group leader Shay was a genuine legend. Seriously, my husband and I were the only two in our group with serious paddling experience - most of the group were first timers. Shay was very good with verbal coaching and when that did not work she literally tethered one group (who was really struggling) to herself and brought them along. My only suggestion would be to try to break up the groups by experience level - my husband and I felt a little like we were held back in order to accommodate the novices. That would be my only note. All in all a fantastic way to spend a morning.

Siginaka Islands Cruise and Kayak Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sitka.

How much does Siginaka Islands Cruise and Kayak Adventure cost?

    +

Prices start at $259 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sitka usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Siginaka Islands Cruise and Kayak Adventure take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sitka is not rushed.

Is Siginaka Islands Cruise and Kayak Adventure worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sitka, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Siginaka Islands Cruise and Kayak Adventure?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Siginaka Islands Cruise and Kayak Adventure suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Siginaka Islands Cruise and Kayak Adventure?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sitka can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sitka and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Siginaka Islands Cruise and Kayak Adventure start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sitka within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sitka?

    +

Sitka runs sea otter and whale quest boats, bear and raptor rescue centre visits, Tongass rainforest hikes, kayak paddles through the islands and Russian colonial history walks. On Outty we rank every Sitka experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include PREMIUM Sitka Scenic Tour, Best of Sitka Land Tour / Bears, Raptors, Totems, Guided Hike | TONGASS NATIONAL FOREST. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sitka?

    +

May to September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sitka?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
