This tour will start at the Apple Barn, go through Pigeon Forge, and then head into Gatlinburg for a short tour of the city and its history, then up the mountain to Rockefeller Memorial then back down into Townsend for our lunch break, and then the Foothills Parkway before going back thru Wears Valley towards Pigeon Forge. Along the way, you will hear amazing stories of local history, shop in some unique local stores, be introduced to some of the best local dining establishments, and see some of the best sights, with some of the most amazing views in the Smoky Mountains. You will be guided by a born and raised local who knows all about what these areas have to offer. This tour was created by a 7th-generation local and is the most in-depth tour in the area. With roots going back over 220 years no one knows more.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park
We will be spending about 3 hours inside the park in various areas such as Newfound Gap, Elkmont, Metcalf Bottoms, Etc. There are some areas with stops and some areas we just pass through.

We will drive through the old vacation resort called Daisy Town, the Ghost Town of Elkmont. We do not always stop here but we provide information about the historic area.

Not as Advertised
The excursion was not as advertised. While the driver was very personable, unfortunately he admitted he was filling in for the regular guide who was on vacation. We had extra stops at moonshine and cider tastings which the group enjoyed. However, we often had no idea where we were, what we were seeing, and there was no historical information shared other than a few bits of well known general knowledge. I don't fault the driver, I fault the tour company for lack of cross training. Several on the trip felt the same way....spent $$ on a drive we could have done ourselves because nothing was learned about the history of the area. The scenery was gorgeous though and we all just tried to enjoy the day

Being in the Great Smoky Mountains does one's soul good. Breathe in the fresh air. Take in the beautiful sights. Shhhh....quiet and you'll see the native wildlife

6 hours in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains
I loved this tour. Dustin did it even though only 3 of us signed up. He's a history buff with family ties in both sides back to the early 1800s. For someone who has never been to the south or Tennessee it was a complete introduction to the area: the past, the present and future with insights into the locals, places to eat and go all amoung the beautiful National Park scenery. I highly recommend Dustin and the tour. A highlight of my 2 week trip from the west coast.

Very entertaining a lot of information and lovely views of the scenic mountains and piston Forge & Gatlinburg area. The guide was very knowledgeable.

Very disappointed
The tour left without us, so I can’t review the tour. Viator gave a different departure address than the local company did. Unfortunately, we went to Viator’s address that was provided in the booking details. When we arrived and the tour bus was not there, I pulled up the email and frantically looked for information and found the other address. I immediately called the local company 15 minutes before departure time. Their message said they don’t monitor voicemail and try text that number, which I immediately did to say we were on our way. They did not respond. By the time we got to the correct location, 4 minutes after departure time, the tour was gone. In an email exchange with local company they blamed Viator for not changing their incorrect booking information. The local company won’t offer a refund, only a gift card for future use. We live 9 hours away, so that is not useful. Viator will not stand behind their service and give us a refund either. So we are out $300.

Our operational procedure involves our driver waiting at the designated meeting point for all guests. On the day of your tour, the driver waited until the scheduled 9:00 AM departure time, having been at the location since 8:30 AM. For guests who have not arrived, our drivers attempt to call and message the contact number provided with the booking. In this instance, after the attempts went to voicemail and no direct contact was made by the 9:00 AM departure time, the tour proceeded with the other guests who had arrived on time. Our phone line provides information about reaching the driver via text for urgent, last-minute communication, which we understand you utilized, but once the tour departs, the driver's focus is on the guests on board. Regarding Refunds and Policy: Our policy, clearly stated at the time of booking, is that no refunds are issued for missed tours due to late arrival or no-shows. This policy is in place because seats are held for the booked party, preventing other customers from booking those spots. As a gesture of goodwill, we offered you a gift card for the full value of your tour. This gift card does not expire and can be used to rebook the tour at your convenience on a future visit, or it can be transferred to another party. We understand that living nine hours away makes immediate rebooking challenging, but this option ensures that the value of your booking is retained. We understand this situation was upsetting, and we regret that your day did not go as planned. We strive to provide excellent experiences and clear communication for all our guests.
