    Worth the price!

Definitely worth the price. Pick up meeting spot was easy to find at a Starbucks. The ride there was smooth and the staff were very nice and amazing. Make sure you hydrate! We felt very safe and the food was delicious.

Love it, highly recommend to try

It was a great and memorable experience. Lunch was delicious too with good vegetarian options. Horses were so well trained and well behaved that they make trail riding pleasurable. Ziplining was great too. Just minor feedback to the crew is to make sure to pick up the trash/water bottles at the waterfall hiking point. I saw empty water bottles lying there and we don't want to disturb the pristine environment there.

Tranquil day in a Sierra mountain

Secluded location in the middle of a jungle; away from the city. Loved the tranquility and the peaceful atmosphere. The horseback riding was about 90 minutes; including a hike to a waterfall. The hike took a bit of effort but it was worth it. The hoses were well behaved and gentle. We got the combo package with a zip line activity, which included about 10 different routes. The only downside is the distance from the town. It took about 90 minutes each way to get to the location. It was very bumpy due to the road condition. Still I enjoyed the opportunity to explore Sierra Madre mountain.

A fun day trip from Puerto Vallarta

We just did this experience and it was definitely worth the time and money. Our driver/guide, Sergio (aka Mr. Clean), was top notch. A few things to note as it wasn't super clear in the description: this is about a 6 hour experience pick up to drop off (8AM to 2PM) and there will be a walking/hiking element that is steep, but doable for most people. There was an older man in his 60s that trailed but made it to the waterfall and back. The ride from pick up (Zona Romantica) to the ranch is just over an hour with other pickups along the way. Two of the six hour experience is just logistics. Once there, the horseback ride is an easy 1-1.5 hours (depending on group size and speed) along a winding rocky river. You'll see butterflies, snakes, fish, goats and cattle along the way. The horse are well trained and know the route so no need to actually "steer" them, they know where to go. The guides also provided water to us along the way. At the midpoint of the ride, you'll dismount and walk up and down some steps to a waterfall for a break. This area is federal land and off the ranch, you'll see when you pass through a gate and fencing. The waterfall and small pool is shallow, so no need to bring your bathing suit. After riding back, next event is the zipline course with 7 legs with the last being 1500 ft (500m) long. First line ziplining for us, but the guides were competent and never felt unsafe. It did feel a little rushed as they tried to get I think 11 of us through, but it was very fun. If you want to get pictures, you'll need to plan your launch order a bit as they sent us one after the other. By the middle of the course, we discussed with another couple to mix in so that the first person on the other side could enjoy their ride, unhook, and get the camera ready to record their partner coming in without feeling too rushed. After the zipline, we were complete with activities and had lunch while another group who was doing the ATVs went on their trip. By this time it was past noon so we were starving and enjoyed some homemade food and margaritas. The guacamole was without exaggeration, the best we had that trip! We had lunch for half an hour to an hour before the final ride back to our pick up point.

Response from the operator: Thank you for choosing Rancho Capomo and for sharing your experience! We're delighted to know you enjoyed the horseback riding tour. We hope to welcome you back for more adventures, and we’d be grateful if you could share your experience with your friends too!

Sierra Madre Horseback Riding and Zipline with Lunch Included: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.

How much does Sierra Madre Horseback Riding and Zipline with Lunch Included cost?

    +

Prices start at $175 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sierra Madre Horseback Riding and Zipline with Lunch Included take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.

Is Sierra Madre Horseback Riding and Zipline with Lunch Included worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sierra Madre Horseback Riding and Zipline with Lunch Included?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sierra Madre Horseback Riding and Zipline with Lunch Included suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sierra Madre Horseback Riding and Zipline with Lunch Included?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sierra Madre Horseback Riding and Zipline with Lunch Included start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
