First, we're heading straight into the real Cambodia. You'll see locals going about their morning routines, endless stretches of emerald rice paddies, and those classic wooden houses on stilts. Our first stop? The Palm Sugar Village, where families have been crafting traditional Cambodian sugar the same way for generations. Watch the whole process from palm tree to sweet, golden crystals.

Picture an 8-meter reclining Buddha carved right into the mountainside – we're talking 1,000 years of pilgrims making this exact climb you're about to take. Brilliant day out at Kulen Mountain!
The tour was brilliant from start to finish. We first visited a place where they make cakes, which were great, before heading to the limestone cliffs for some amazing views and epic photo opportunities. We then visited the 15th-century reclining Buddha and the 1,000 Lingas River, with its beautiful natural spring. No admission fees to be paid. The tour was streamlined and lasted 6hours as there were three of us which was ideal! Finally, we had a really well-cooked and nicely spiced chicken and rice lunch before going for a swim at the waterfall. The waterfall was massive, and I even swam underneath it to get the “blessing” by the 1,000 Lingas! Our tour guide, Seila, was superb. His approach to the job was a perfect balance of being attentive and present while also giving us our own space when appropriate. He was incredibly affable, happy to chat, and very knowledgeable. We asked him countless questions, including plenty that weren’t directly related to the tour, and he was able to answer everything, from history and culture to all sorts of other topics. Seila genuinely made the tour even more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise. I really appreciate his time, knowledge and personable attitude, and I would happily recommend him to anyone taking this tour!
Response from the operator: Dear valued guest, Thank you so much for this wonderfully detailed and vivid review! We're absolutely delighted to hear you had such a brilliant day out at Kulen Mountain, from start to finish. It's lovely to know you enjoyed the cake-making visit, the stunning limestone cliffs with their epic photo opportunities, the 15th-century reclining Buddha, and the beautiful natural spring at the 1,000 Lingas River. We're also glad the pacing of the 6-hour tour felt ideal for your group of three, and that the chicken and rice lunch hit the spot before your refreshing swim at the waterfall — and what a wonderful bonus getting your "blessing" beneath the 1,000 Lingas! We're especially touched by your kind words about Seila. Striking that perfect balance between being attentive and giving guests their own space is truly a skill, and we're thrilled to hear his affability, knowledge, and willingness to answer all your questions — on and off topic — made the tour so much more enjoyable. We'll be sure to pass along your heartfelt appreciation to him; he'll be so proud and happy to know his personable approach left such a lasting impression. Thank you again for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and thorough review, and for your recommendation. We hope to welcome you back to Cambodia for more unforgettable adventures soon! Memorable day trip with Mony
We had an excellent day trip with Mony. He was knowledgeable but also gave us space to enjoy it in our own way. The waterfall swimming was fantastic, the views from the viewpoint breathtaking, and the barbecued chicken lunch was tasty. There was plenty of free cold water in the bus which has air con. Great day trip - would totally recommend!

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Siem Reap Kulen Mountain Waterfall Tour and Picnic lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.
How much does Siem Reap Kulen Mountain Waterfall Tour and Picnic lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Siem Reap Kulen Mountain Waterfall Tour and Picnic lunch take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.
Is Siem Reap Kulen Mountain Waterfall Tour and Picnic lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Siem Reap Kulen Mountain Waterfall Tour and Picnic lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Siem Reap Kulen Mountain Waterfall Tour and Picnic lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Siem Reap Kulen Mountain Waterfall Tour and Picnic lunch?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Siem Reap Kulen Mountain Waterfall Tour and Picnic lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?
+
On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Small-Group and Guide tours, Angkor Wat full Day 'Small Group with sunset & Tour Guide, Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Siem Reap?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
