Booking is misleading - The place shown in the booking is not where they take you!

There was really great communication from the provider from the moment I made the reservation for this shopping excursion. The pictures and the description clearly said Taino shopping center. Our driver was very punctual in picking us up, however he dropped us off at world market, not Taino. When we told him and showed him that we were supposed to go to Taino, he said no they are all the same and this one is closer. Well world market was basically a tourist trap. The quality of products was not great and their prices were higher than our resort. I immediately texted the provider and told him we were supposed to go to Taino, he apologized and said he would book us for no cost tomorrow, but that he couldn’t take us there today. So this was wasted time for us, which is precious when you are on vacation. So we went to our meet point the following morning and I texted the provider to confirm our reservation for today to go to Taino. He replied that the driver was on the way and would meet us out front. We waited for 15 mins and I texted him again that we were outside waiting. He replied ok and we never heard from him again and never got a driver. So we had to pay an uber driver to take us to Taino, which was well worth the time. The workers were very friendly, but not pushy. The quality of products was much better than the world market. The prices were a little more but we didn’t feel they were overpriced for the quality of our items. They had a wide variety of Dominican items for a good price. They had everything in one shop, cigars ( as well as a demonstration), coffee, chocolate, rum as well as tastings, jewelry, t shirts, local artwork, lotions, etc! Highly recommend Taino for your souvenir shopping! If you book this excursion make sure you specify that’s where you want to go even though that is what you are booking.

    Excellent service. Pickup...

Excellent service. Pickup and drop off from the resort. I'll use it again and recommend it. Try them.

    I don't recommend this tour.

When I booked to go on this shopping excursion, it said start time 9am. The night before, I got a text saying can I do a pick up time 11:10am or 2:15pm. We chose 11:10am as we wanted to get our shopping done in the morning. We were at the meeting place at 10:50am, at 11:20 I texted the person who contacted me. Told him no one was here yet. Then I got a text back saying there was a confusion and can we make it another day? No, as we have other excursions other days. Then he said how about 2:15pm, we thought about it until we asked about returning. His response was you can return anytime when you are finished shopping, you have to pay for the ride back after 2:15pm. That made no sense to me, as I paid to be picked up and dropped off at my hotel. I chose this shopping tour as it said 9am. Nowhere does it say that if you go after 2:15, you have to find your own way back. That is why I booked it through a company, so I didn't have to worry about finding my way around where I'm not familiar. Don't go with this company, choose another one who will take you shopping.

Response from the operator: Hello Deanna, unfortunately, we are unable to place the pickup time for all the different pickup locations in Punta Cana in one product, this is why we state in the additional information that we will confirm the time on the day before the trip. We are terribly sorry though that we were unable to pick you up. There seems to be a confusion though, you didn't have to pay for the way back, payment would only be required if you would have liked a custom pick-up time since that would have required us to send you a private van, outside of the regular pick-up times. All in all we are sorry again that we missed the pick up

    Disappointed

It wasn't completed, they didn't pick us up at the hotel, we were there waiting, they just didn't forget to charge us, for the service that wasn't provided, the amount came on the card statement.

Response from the operator: Hello, we are terribly sorry for not seeing the reservation. We offered to pick you up at another time, though, and when you requested the refund, we processed it. Please do not make it sound as if we took the money without offering the service.

Shopping Tour in Punta Cana with Round Trip Transportation: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Shopping Tour in Punta Cana with Round Trip Transportation cost?

    +

Prices start at $5 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Shopping Tour in Punta Cana with Round Trip Transportation take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Shopping Tour in Punta Cana with Round Trip Transportation worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Shopping Tour in Punta Cana with Round Trip Transportation?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Shopping Tour in Punta Cana with Round Trip Transportation suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Shopping Tour in Punta Cana with Round Trip Transportation?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Shopping Tour in Punta Cana with Round Trip Transportation start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Off Road Buggy Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
