    Akari was super helpful...

Akari was super helpful picking out outfits that fit my very specific material needs, going from shop to shop finding great Japanese clothes for me to try on. It was a MUCH better experience than if I had just tried to do this on my own, certainly with me not having much Japanese language skills. Ended up with several great outfits and felt like the best dressed foreigner for the rest of my Japan trip. Thanks Akari! 😃

Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful review! Shopping with you in Shinjuku was a blast. 😊 I’m so happy I could help you find pieces that met your specific material needs. The combination of your new clothes and that great fragrance made you look so handsome and stylish! Hearing that you felt like the best dressed foreigner makes me incredibly happy. Thank you again, and I hope you continue to enjoy your new style on your upcoming travels! ✨

We loved this immersive and personalized shopping tour of Tokyo fashion!

We had so much fun on this fashion tour and would highly recommend to anyone who wants a deep dive into Tokyo’s fashion and shopping! Our guide Akari was knowledgeable, welcoming, and well-prepared. Before the tour, Akari reached out to ask about our style preferences and goals, budget, sizes, etc. and then selected boutiques and designers to our tastes. Her communication was always clear and friendly, we always felt comfortable knowing she had a clear plan. On the tour itself, Akari guided us through Shinjuku shores and assisted in communicating with the store clerks, helped carry our coats/bags, and shared tips and facts about Japan’s fashion industry and trends. We visited several cool independent Japanese designer boutiques, vintage shops, and curated multi-brand retailers for men and women! We left with several unique items that we love. When the tour ended, Akari even recommended other shops we could visit and offered tips for our upcoming travel to other Japanese cities too! It was such a pleasure taking this shopping tour, well worth the price especially if you are a fashion lover with limited time in Tokyo who wants to learn about and buy great Japanese fashion - it’s such a big city and can be intimidating, but this tour left us feeling confident and excited to explore more!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such an incredibly heartwarming and detailed review! It was an absolute pleasure guiding you both through Shinjuku. Because you have such a deep passion for fashion, sharing Japanese fashion and latest trends with you was truly a joy for me as well. I'm so thrilled that we were able to find those unique pieces that perfectly matched your wonderful style—that perfect mix of sweet and edgy! The jacket and pants your partner purchased looked absolutely fantastic on him, too. Tokyo's shopping scene can be massive, so I'm very happy to hear that my pre-tour preparations and support helped you navigate the city with confidence. I hope my Kyoto recommendations also added some extra magic to the rest of your trip! You two were amazing guests. Please keep enjoying your wonderful fashion journey, and if you ever come back to Japan, I would love to explore more areas with you. Wishing you both all the best! ☺️

    1000 out of 10 Experience

My daughter and I had the best experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect but Akari quickly eased away the uncertainty and showed us a really good time. She was prepared and full of energy/personality. Knew exactly which stores to show us based on preferences shared and had an organized route to make the time spent most efficient. We weren’t ready to leave her but had dinner reservations to run off to. She even provided a run down of our day afterwards and sent a checklist for stores we couldn’t get to in case we had time during the rest of our visit to Tokyo. Additionally, she sent a list of other things to do, places to eat, etc based on interests shared during our time together. Her recommendations were better than Google! Would definitely recommend this experience with Akari.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this incredibly heartwarming review! Earning a "1000 out of 10" and being called "Better than Google" is the best compliment a guide could ask for! ✨ I was absolutely thrilled to go shopping with such a stylish mother-daughter duo. Both of you are incredibly cool, and even the Japanese shop staff were amazed by your fabulous vibe—especially your daughter's beautiful hairstyle and your stunning top! As a stylist, it was a true joy helping you find pieces that perfectly highlight your wonderful personalities. I am already looking forward to your next visit to Japan. Until then, have fun rocking your new outfits! ❤️

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the 'top notch' review! It was an absolute treat to shop with such a stylish mother and son. I had so much fun exploring the shops with you, especially since we share such similar tastes in colors! Your son is also incredibly sweet and his Japanese is fantastic. Thank you again! I hope you had a safe trip back and are enjoying your new items back home. 😊

The Best Tour for Fashion Lovers

This tour was the highlight of my trip to Japan. I love fashion and enjoy learning about new brands and designers from all over the world. Akari is such a professional and pleasant person to spend time shopping with. She connected with me before the tour, was thorough in her questions and planned a tour that was perfectly aligned with what I was looking for. I needed to extend our tour slightly and she was flexible and accommodating. I was able to buy amazing pieces, vintage, contemporary, new and pre-loved, learned about local small designers as well as iconic designers. I highly recommend this tour if you love fashion.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a sweet review! I had so much fun shopping with someone who loves fashion as much as you do! Planning the perfect route for you was a blast, and I’m so happy you enjoyed the mix of vintage and local Japanese designers we found together. Time flew by because I was honestly having just as much fun as you! All the pieces you picked out looked absolutely gorgeous on you. Thank you again for choosing my tour. I hope you enjoy styling your new items back home, and I really hope we can go shopping together again someday! 😊

Shinjuku Personal Stylist: Vintage, K-Fashion or Streetwear: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does Shinjuku Personal Stylist: Vintage, K-Fashion or Streetwear cost?

    +

Prices start at $13000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Shinjuku Personal Stylist: Vintage, K-Fashion or Streetwear take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is Shinjuku Personal Stylist: Vintage, K-Fashion or Streetwear worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Shinjuku Personal Stylist: Vintage, K-Fashion or Streetwear?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Shinjuku Personal Stylist: Vintage, K-Fashion or Streetwear suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Shinjuku Personal Stylist: Vintage, K-Fashion or Streetwear?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Shinjuku Personal Stylist: Vintage, K-Fashion or Streetwear start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

    +

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

    +

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
