    Never picked us up

Pickup location not given to tour operator.. never picked us up and they dont want to refund. Horrible never again!

Response from the operator: The customer booked a shared ride on Aug 3th. from Antigua to Panajachel at 4:00 PM and the ride would be the same date. The customer did not provided a pick up point on his booking. We started communicating to the cell number provided on the booking at 2:36pm because we needed to know his pick up place but unfortunatelly he never answered. We kept texting to his whatsapp unsuccessfuly as well as calling him but his cell phone was off. The shuttle starts picking un at 4pm and leaves the city after all pick ups are completed. Actually, the shuttle left around 4:35. The customer finally communicated with us at 4:57 saying he was at a caffé, but the bus was already on it's way to Panajachel. It is very clear that it was not our fault as no pick up place was provided.

    The driver was very...

The driver was very aggressive and the drive was very unpleasant. We were nauseous, hot, and extremely uncomfortable.

Response from the operator: The drive from Panajachel to Guatemala city starts with about one hour and a half on a winding road. Even if you are driving at 40 to 50 km an hour speed you will feel like a fast speed. The shuttles or even car can not drive at a high speed. People who are sensitive to vehicle motion should prepare for a trip like this. This area is at a high elevation, around 2,000 ft. It's a place where, if you get out of the car, you should at least put on a sweater because it's cold outside. I don't understand how they could have been hot around 5:00 p.m.

    Prompt and good driver-...

Prompt and good driver- very friendly. The only reason I took a star is because the van is pretty small and a bit uncomfortable but the driver stopped midway for a restroom break for us and was very nice. Good for the price but If you’re tall or thick- you will be right!

Response from the operator: I really appreciate your review. I sincerely value your input. We prioritize safety and comfort. We consistently aim to deliver outstanding service in a friendly and inviting environment. We thank you for booking with us, and we look forward to seeing you again if your future visits to Guatemala.

    Ok

Glad to have had a scheduled ride to Panajachel. But we got to our destination an hour later than expected because our driver started late and took a long break in between.

Response from the operator: When a shared ride with a pick up included is booked, It’s important to keep in mind that it’s not just one person being picked up, but rather several people being picked up at various stops. There could be 6, 8, 9, or even 10 pickup stops. Bedides the traffic in Antigua is do slow because of the cable stone streets. So, you have to take into account that if the bus starts picking up passengers at 12:15 p.m., it will finish picking them up around 1:00 p.m. The driver knows he has to arrive at a certain time to the destination. However, some passengers need a stop to use the restroom or stretch their legs a bit, since they can’t sit on the bus for 2 hours and 30 minutes. So the driver gives them some time to use the restroom, stretch, buy a bottle of water, and so on. Please don't just blame it on us. Is not the driver who needs a break. We are used to even longer rides.

Not totally as described but got the job done

It is advertised as a hotel pickup from Antigua however, 24 hours before the pick up I got a message saying we needed to meet at one specific hotel to avoid traffic. This was pretty inconvenient since it was on the other side of town and it would have been nice for that to be in the booking details. The shuttle left 15 minutes late but the driver made up the time on the way to Panajachel. The driver did drop everyone off at their hotel (or the ferry) in Panajachel which was convenient. If you get motion sick at all, I’d definitely recommend taking medicine beforehand as the road gets pretty twisty close to Panajachel.

Response from the operator: If you read the information in the product description, you may have noticed that it states here that we do not offer pickups on certain dates or occasions when the city or authorities, for whatever reason, close streets in Antigua and traffic is too slow. It’s impossible to pick everyone up at their hotel. If we were to start picking people up at 12:15, we wouldn’t arrive a few minutes or half an hour late—we’d arrive probably two or three hours late.
