Shuttle service is a shared transportation option in an air-conditioned minibus (or coaster) between popular destinations. Amazing transport plus tour combo!

Amazing family owned tour company. We booked transport from La Fortuna to Monteverde and the trip was so much more than expected! We got to do bird watching on the boat ride over the lake, then were picked up by Freddie who took us to harvest sugar cane and make sugar cane drinks (watch out for the moonshine ;-) ) before stopping at a butterfly garden and eventually a drop off right at our hotel in Monteverde. Amazing trip, fantastic host, and we are going to book more tours with Faro travel. Strongly recommend!

Great trip to Monteverde with Faro!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about our trip from La Fortuna to Monteverde with Faro! My daughter and I just hoped for an easy way to get from one place to another, but Freddie made it an experience for us. We stopped at a local farm where we got to cut and press sugarcane and enjoy a homemade drink. We also had a rest break at a little cafe with homemade empanadas and a butterfly garden. Freddie shared a lot of great ideas for places to eat and things to do in Monteverde. Looking forward to the return trip with Faro! It’s a family business and you can tell how much care they put into what they do.

Quick and enjoyable

This was a super helpful and fun way of getting from one destination to the other. More enjoyable and took less time than driving around the lake

Good way to get from La Fortuna to Monteverde

Everything went smoothly, from pickup at our hotel to drop off at the boat to pickup on the river side of the lake and dropoff at our lodging. The boat ride was maybe an hour in a simple vessel and was easy and uneventful. The ride from the lake to Monteverde was an adventure in itself as the roads were narrow, rutted from rain and use, and we even crossed a small river that was overflowing on a narrow bridge. The driver was amazingly accomplished through the entire two hours (which included a short break at a coffee shop). All the people working on this trip were very competent and we trusted them to deliver us safely.

Shared Lake Crossing from La Fortuna de Arenal to Monteverde: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for La Fortuna.

How much does Shared Lake Crossing from La Fortuna de Arenal to Monteverde cost?

+

Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in La Fortuna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Shared Lake Crossing from La Fortuna de Arenal to Monteverde take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in La Fortuna is not rushed.

Is Shared Lake Crossing from La Fortuna de Arenal to Monteverde worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in La Fortuna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Shared Lake Crossing from La Fortuna de Arenal to Monteverde?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Shared Lake Crossing from La Fortuna de Arenal to Monteverde suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Shared Lake Crossing from La Fortuna de Arenal to Monteverde?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in La Fortuna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in La Fortuna and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Shared Lake Crossing from La Fortuna de Arenal to Monteverde start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central La Fortuna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in La Fortuna?

+

On Outty we rank every La Fortuna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Upper Balsa River White Water Rafting Class 3/4 in Costa Rica, North Fields Cafe: Craft Specialty Coffee and Chocolate Tour, Canyoning Adventure Rappelling Waterfalls in Arenal Volcano. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit La Fortuna?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in La Fortuna?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
