Robel, unforgettable tour
Robel is an excellent guide. Very friendly and open to all kinds of requests from the client, such as stopping the car to get off to see a group of huts or termite nests. He fulfilled the program 100%. We wholeheartedly recommend him. As with any trip, there are unforeseen events. A couple of accommodations were very basic, with water and power issues, but this is something that generally occurs in Ethiopia. The car had air conditioning problems and a diesel smell. His driver, Elias, is a GPS tracker, an excellent driver who navigates very difficult terrain. None of this diminishes the fascination of Ethiopia.
Response from the operator: Dear Franschor We’re so grateful for your thoughtful feedback! I’m delighted that you found the tour well organized and that you enjoyed the company of our team. Elias is indeed an excellent driver, and I’ll be sure to share your kind words with him. Thank you also for your understanding regarding some of the rural accommodations—these areas can be basic, but they offer an authentic look at local life. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again soon! Best regards Robel

perfect trip with a perfect guide
robel was professional, friendly & flexible & creative - all that is needed for a great tourguide. we took a 5 day trip throughout the omo valley- and had only great experiences on our pace- everthing that was on our list was achieved and much more. robel learns you and tailormakes the tour on the fly . he is appreciated locally and seems to get only the best local guides (needed due to local languages and regulations) to work with him
Response from the operator: Dear rafir I truly appreciate your wonderful feedback and the time you took to share your experience. It was such a pleasure guiding you through the Omo Valley and showing you the local cultures, landscapes, and daily life of the people. I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed every part of the journey and that everything on your list — and more — was accomplished. Your words mean a lot, not only to me but also to the local communities and guides who helped make your trip special. I always do my best to make each tour flexible, personal, and memorable — so hearing that you felt it makes me very happy. Thank you again for your trust and kindness. I hope to welcome you back to explore more of Ethiopia’s incredible beauty — perhaps the Simien Mountains, Bale National Park, or the Danakil Depression next time! With warmest regards, Robel Hailu Omo Valley Experience Tours

Unexplored tours
It was very cheap compared to other tours, and Mr. Lovell and Mr. Thame were very polite! I'm really glad I took part in this! However, please be aware that there is a lot of rain during this time of year, so if you are going on the tour by motorbike, please be careful! It was an amazing tour that we would love to share with others!

Υπέροχη εμπειρία ,καταπληκτικός ξεναγός
The trip to the tribes was an exciting experience. Robel is an amazing tour guide, helpful, with a very good sense of humor, friendly and cordial with all the people and with very good relations with the local people, wherever we went. He was always there for us in any difficulty we went through and willing to help us. I would gladly go on other trips with him.

A journey into the soul: Life changing tour through the tribes of Ethiopia.
Our journey took us to the heart of the Omo Valley which is home to some of the most culturally rich and diverse tribes in the world, icluding the Hamar , the Mursi ,the Nyanghatom, the Ari and the Dorze. Our tour guide, Robel was the key to this unforgettable experience. He was knowledgeable, passionate and deeply respectful of each community's customs.Through his guidance we felt like guests -not just like tourists -invited to have a deeper insight on tribal daily life, culture and customs. He was also so attentive and accommodative ,always ready to satisfy all our needs and provide solutions to whatever came up.Thus, I highly recommend Omo Valley Experience Tours to anyone who wishes to go on a trip that goes beyond sightseeing , awakens your soul and changes your view of the world.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Seven Day Southern Ethiopia Tribal and Nature Discovery Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Addis Ababa.
How much does Seven Day Southern Ethiopia Tribal and Nature Discovery Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $1450 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Addis Ababa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Seven Day Southern Ethiopia Tribal and Nature Discovery Tour take?
+
Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Addis Ababa is not rushed.
Is Seven Day Southern Ethiopia Tribal and Nature Discovery Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Addis Ababa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Seven Day Southern Ethiopia Tribal and Nature Discovery Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Seven Day Southern Ethiopia Tribal and Nature Discovery Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 168-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Seven Day Southern Ethiopia Tribal and Nature Discovery Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Addis Ababa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Addis Ababa and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Seven Day Southern Ethiopia Tribal and Nature Discovery Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Addis Ababa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Addis Ababa?
+
On Outty we rank every Addis Ababa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Addis Ababa Authentic Private City Tour, Day Trip From Addis Ababa See Historical Monastery,Stunning Nature,Animals,Birds, Addis Ababa Guided City Tour With Airport & Hotel Pick Up. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Addis Ababa?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Addis Ababa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
