Over the centuries its walls have been the barracks for British soldiers, a school for the youth of and the home of Juan Genopoly, a leader of the Minorcans. And their ghosts have decided to stick around. We do not go inside, it's only on the outside we tell our story.

In 1821 when the yellow fever hit St. Augustine it killed over 400 of its residents. At the time that was more than one third of its population. Self guided haunted tour

Information was very limited as what you get with an actual tour guide group. While taking this tour we would run into the tour guided group and their information was more detailed and informative

Response from the operator: Hi! Thanks for using the WalknTours app! The tour is about one hour, and provides stories at spots and as you walk. You can go at your own pace, anytime, on your terms, unliked guided tours making it popular for solo travelers, families and those that don't like the restrictions of group tours. If you are looking for that standard guided tour stop of 10 to 15 minute stops with long stories, you won't get that here :). These are meant to be fun, informative and well paced by design. The whole tour is about an hour plus if you do not stop and you'll see many sites in town that many people miss. You'll hear many ghost stories and historical stories. 1000's take it and I hear good feedback often! Sorry you did not like it, I'm happy to refund you. Please email me at info@walkntours.com. Thanks! Greg @ WalknTours

    Enjoyable Family Night Out.

My family and I did this while put for a belated birthday celebration. We loved being able to go at our own pace, and being able to have a guided walk through some streets that we, somehow, hadn't been despite having gone to St. Augustine multiple times. There was a bit of confusion while we were walking around, though we quickly figured it out. When referencing the Carriage House inn, there are 2 buildings. The first one was on the right, but as we continued down, we realized the stories were a reference to the second Carriage house a bit further down the street and was on the left. Second, the Prince of Wales pub has been permanently closed, and is now ReChic Treasures. Despite those two bits of confusion, my parents and I throughly enjoyed the tour. Also, if doing this at night for a "proper" ghost tour, the Scarlett O'Hara is LOUD. My Mom had difficulty hearing the audio, so we had to go back through that audio after getting the photos we wanted and walking away.

    Hauntingly Good Fun!

A Must-Do in St. Augustine ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re intrigued by the supernatural and love the freedom to explore on your terms, this self-guided audio tour in St. Augustine is an absolute gem. My family and I recently embarked on this spooky adventure, and it was nothing short of captivating! The audio tour takes you on a thrilling journey through the haunted history of the nation’s oldest city. We wandered the historic alleys, uncovering chilling tales tied to iconic landmarks like the Oldest Wooden School House, the Old Powder House Inn Bed and Breakfast, and other historic sites, some dating back hundreds of years. The stories were well-narrated and really brought the eerie charm of St. Augustine to life. What we loved most was the flexibility. Unlike guided tours, we could go at our own pace and schedule. With five of us, it was an economical option that didn’t sacrifice quality or engagement. Plus, it felt more personal being able to explore the locations independently as we soaked in the atmosphere of the city at night. If you’re looking for a unique way to experience the haunted side of St. Augustine, this tour is perfect for families, couples, or even solo adventurers. Highly recommend it for anyone brave enough to stroll these haunted streets alone (or with some company)! #HauntedHistory #StAugustineAdventures #SelfGuidedTour If you’re intrigued by the supernatural and love the freedom to explore on your terms, this self-guided audio tour in St. Augustine is an absolute gem. Highly recommend!!!

Really fun activity to do! By yourself or with friends! Travel on your on speed is one of my favorites about this! The app was pretty easy to use! Only reason I rated it 4 starts and not 5 because I wish some of the stories were a little longer. But overall I recommend for anyone needing something to do on your own time!

Self-Guided Haunted Ghost Walking Audio Tour in St. Augustine: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for St Augustine.

How much does Self-Guided Haunted Ghost Walking Audio Tour in St. Augustine cost?

    +

Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in St Augustine usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Self-Guided Haunted Ghost Walking Audio Tour in St. Augustine take?

    +

Plan for about 0.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in St Augustine is not rushed.

Is Self-Guided Haunted Ghost Walking Audio Tour in St. Augustine worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in St Augustine, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Self-Guided Haunted Ghost Walking Audio Tour in St. Augustine?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Self-Guided Haunted Ghost Walking Audio Tour in St. Augustine suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Self-Guided Haunted Ghost Walking Audio Tour in St. Augustine?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in St Augustine can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in St Augustine and add a light layer if any part of the 0.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Self-Guided Haunted Ghost Walking Audio Tour in St. Augustine start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central St Augustine within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in St Augustine?

    +

St Augustine is walkable history: Castillo de San Marcos, Spanish quarter walking tours, trolley loops, lighthouse climbs and some of the best-attended ghost tours in the country. Guide storytelling quality is the main variable. On Outty we rank every St Augustine experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Medieval Torture Museum with Ghost Hunting and Tiny Art Gallery, St. Augustine's Wine, Cocktail and Food Experience, Dolphin and Wildlife Adventure of St. Augustine. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit St Augustine?

    +

February to May and September to November. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in St Augustine?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
