The streets are lively and there are quite a few recommended places to visit on this compact island.

Visitors to the park can snorkel with multitudes of fish while exploring the Christ of the Deep Statue and even the remnants of an old Spanish shipwreck.

    8. Pigeon Key

The tiny 5 acre Pigeon Key played a pivotal role for railroad workers building the final stages of the Florida East Coast Railway's Overseas Railway project, which would connect passengers from New York to Key West, and even continue by boat to Havana, without ever leaving the carriage. The Old Seven Mile Bridge passed right through the island which served as worker's homes and camp. After taking a battering after Hurricane Irma, bridge reconstruction continues for those hoping to walk to Pigeon Key once again. Access currently is by short ferry boat ride starting from the visitor center in Marathon, and is an added bonus.

    Definately worth it

The self guide tour was very informative. It provided good commentary and information along the route and possible place to stop or visit. We used the tour from Key West to Key Largo and back and the in downtown Key Largo for information regarding places to see in Key West and their exact location. I was not sure if a self-guided tour would be that good but i was surprised by it's accuracy and narration. I would definitely recommend this tour and would consider purchasing other tours in the future.

Response from the operator: Hi Mary, thanks for taking our Florida Keys audio tour. We’re glad the commentary, route details, stop suggestions, and location information made your drive from Key West to Key Largo and back more enjoyable. It’s great to hear that the accuracy and narration were a pleasant surprise, and we truly appreciate the recommendation. We hope to join you on the road again soon!

Great tour, bad food recommendations .

The tour was super helpful with clear driving directions and narrator was great. The restaurant recommendations not so much. The Sunset grill may have been good in the past but our experience with four different meals was not good. While the patio was nice, the food quality was very poor. Hopefully that recommendation will be removed from the itinerary.

Response from the operator: Hi, thank you for taking our Florida Keys audio tour and for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the clear directions and narration, and we’re sorry the restaurant recommendation fell short. We’ll have our team review it for a possible itinerary update. We hope to join you on the road again soon!

    Great purchase

I've never purchased an audio tour before, but it was money well spent. It took a few minutes to get set-up (not very tech-savvy), but we figured it out. The narrator was entertaining and we were impressed the landmarks for directions were still in place. It made the long drive very entertaining and we learned a lot about the history of the area, sites, and restaurants. (Sunset Grill by the 7-mile bridge was great and breath-taking views)

Response from the operator: Hi Jackie, thanks for taking our Florida Keys audio tour. We’re glad it felt worth it for your first audio tour and that the narration, directions, history, and local stops made the long drive more enjoyable. We’re happy you got everything set up, and our Support Team is available daily from 9 AM to 6 PM EST if questions ever come up before or during a tour. We hope to join you on the road again soon!

    Great Audio Tour

It was a good experience. It worked as advertised and the narrator combined humor and information with a good balance. We learned a lot in the 200 mile trip to Key West we would never have known if we had not purchased the guoed audio tour.

We’re so glad you had a great experience and found the narration to be a good balance of humor and information throughout your 200-mile drive to Key West. Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour in Florida Keys: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Key West.

How much does Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour in Florida Keys cost?

    +

Prices start at $17 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Key West usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour in Florida Keys take?

    +

Plan for about 24 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Key West is not rushed.

Is Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour in Florida Keys worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 100 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Key West, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour in Florida Keys?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour in Florida Keys suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 24-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour in Florida Keys?

    +

Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Key West can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Key West and add a light layer if any part of the 24-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour in Florida Keys start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Key West within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Key West?

    +

Key West is a boat town. The only living coral barrier reef in the continental US sits seven miles offshore, and reef trips, sunset catamarans and backcountry kayak runs are the core bookings, alongside Hemingway house and Duval history walks. Our ranking weighs boat capacity and reef site rotation, which separates the good operators from the party cruises. On Outty we rank every Key West experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Shark and Wildlife Viewing Adventure in Key West, Southernmost Food & Cultural Walking Tour by Key West Food Tours, Half-Day Trip from Key West with Kayaking, Snorkeling & Sunset. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Key West?

    +

December to April, dry season and calm reef water. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Key West?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
