Matthew's Sedona Philosophy Private Hike is enjoyable as well as mind and eyes stimulating!

What an enjoyable afternoon with tour guide Matthew Goodwin! Matthew shared a lot of interesting information about Sedona and its fascinating history as we walked the Red Rock State Park. Matthew is also a philosophy professor at a local college. We enjoyed mind stimulating conversations during our 2 hours hike which was at an easy going pace. Matthew reached out to me the day before to confirm our private hike--which was professional and comforting. I highly recommend enjoying Matthew's Sedona Philosophy hiking tour! I sure did!

An Unforgettable and Unique Sedona Experience

Our Sedona Philosophy hike was over a month ago now and I'm still telling friends and family about my experience. It was definitely a highlight of our trip and created a perspective shift that I still carry with me. Hiking with Andrea was a gift that allowed my husband and I to slow down and reconnect with each other and with the land. She shared facts about how being in nature affects the mind, body, and spirit in so many positive ways, and we were able to soak up that positivity and see things in a new light. It was the perfect combination of moderate and easy hiking; silence, deep conversation, and laughter; and we saw some of the most incredible Sedona red rock vistas from a new viewpoint. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Sedona!

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful reflection on your time with us. It is truly rewarding to hear that your hike with Andrea provided a lasting perspective shift and a chance to reconnect. We believe the land has a unique way of grounding us, and we are so glad Andrea could help facilitate that experience for you and your husband. Hearing that you’re still sharing these memories a month later means the world to us!

Exactly what I needed – depth, peace, and an unforgettable experience

This was hands down one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had in Sedona. I booked a private tour not really knowing what to expect, but it ended up being so much more than just sightseeing. We explored some beautiful spots (including Doe Mountain and Boynton Canyon), but what really stood out was the depth of the experience itself. My guide took the time to slow things down — we talked about life, purpose, philosophy, and even did some meditation. It felt grounding in a way that’s hard to describe. It wasn’t rushed, it wasn’t scripted, and it didn’t feel touristy. It felt human. The photos were amazing, the locations were stunning, and the overall energy of the day was calm and restorative. I came to Sedona needing a reset, and this tour delivered exactly that. If you’re someone who values meaningful conversation, reflection, and actually feeling a place instead of just checking off landmarks, I can’t recommend this enough. Worth every dollar.

Response from the operator: This is exactly what we love to hear. Sedona’s beauty is undeniable, but it’s the intentional slowing down—the meditation, the conversation, and the connection—that makes it meaningful. It’s wonderful to know you didn’t just see the landmarks; you felt them. Thank you for this recommendation and for reminding us all to value the human side of travel.

Sedona Easy Hiking Tour with a Private Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sedona.

How much does Sedona Easy Hiking Tour with a Private Guide cost?

    +

Prices start at $157 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sedona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sedona Easy Hiking Tour with a Private Guide take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sedona is not rushed.

Is Sedona Easy Hiking Tour with a Private Guide worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sedona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sedona Easy Hiking Tour with a Private Guide?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sedona Easy Hiking Tour with a Private Guide suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sedona Easy Hiking Tour with a Private Guide?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sedona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sedona and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sedona Easy Hiking Tour with a Private Guide start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sedona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sedona?

    +

Sedona's activity market is dominated by off-road jeep tours, and the difference between operators comes down to which trails they are permitted to run. Beyond that: vortex and energy walks, hot air balloon lifts at dawn, stargazing sessions in one of the darkest skies in the country, and Grand Canyon day runs north. We rank on permit access and group size. On Outty we rank every Sedona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Grand Canyon Complete Tour from Sedona or Flagstaff, Sedona’s ONLY Guided ATV Tour: Western Red Rock Backcountry, Sedona Off-Road Jeep Tour: Rugged Western Canyons & Wildlife. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sedona?

    +

March to May and September to November. Summer afternoons bring monsoon storms. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sedona?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
