Founded after the Roman conquest of Mallorca, Pollentia was the most important city on the island for several centuries. Here, you can see the remnants of a bustling urban center, including the forum, the residential area, and the theater. These ruins offer a fascinating glimpse into the daily lives of the Romans who once walked these very streets, conducting trade, participating in public life, and enjoying the arts. Constructed in the 14th century under the orders of King James II of Mallorca, these walls were built to defend the town against pirate raids and other threats. Stretching nearly 1.5 kilometers, the walls once encircled the entire town, with 26 towers providing strategic viewpoints.
