    About this experience

Discover the Crypto-Jewish contributions to modern society. The Spanish island of Mallorca was home for hundreds of years to a thriving Jewish community where Jews played a pivotal role in cartography before having to go underground with the rise of the Spanish Inquisition in the 14th and 15th centuries. Many Jews faced forced conversions, becoming Crypto-Jews, who displayed their Catholic face outwardly while adhering to their Jewish faith through secret signs and hidden synagogues in their homes.

    Wonderful experience.

Excellent tour and guide. Our guide was knowledgeable and shared the important details of the Jewish people in Majorca. He was able to answer all of the questions asked patiently and with great detail. I'd definitely recommend this group again.

Response from the operator: Thank you so very much! We are happy that you enjoyed the time together!

Excellent off the beaten path experience

We had only one day of our Seabourne cruise in Majorca. We wanted to see as much as possible with the time we had. We also saw a lot of cathedrals and were looking for something different. I spoke with Dani Rothstein several times and he set up this tour. Carla his wife was a fantastic guide and very knowledgeable about local Jewish history. Through her we got access to the Jewish museum which is currently closed. It was definitely what we were looking for . We had a walking tour in the morning and then Dani the driver who was also great took us into the mountains to see some beautiful towns . It was by far the best day of our 2 week western Mediterranean cruise. I heartily recommend that you use this company . They are very reliable from pick up to drop off. They even had snacks besides drinks for us.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Jeffrey! We thoroughly enjoyed our time together with your group. We look forward to sharing our documentary film with you and screening in your local community. We are passionate about sharing the story of the Jews and Conversos and Chuetas of Majorca!

    Cultural blessing

We did this tour to expand our ancestral knowledge and we were all blown away by what we learned. We were moved to tears when we placed our prayers in the prayer wall and just in complete awe of the history of our ancestors. Highly recommend this experience for anyone looking for a day trip or looking to challenge their understanding of history. Dani and his team are ones we will never forget. Thank you for a beautiful day!

Great tour of Jewish history and contemporary life

Today we had a wonderful tour by Dani Rotstein. He is a very engaging and entertaining guide, with many interesting stories. Make sure he tells you what happened when a young Christian Mallorcan introduced his Jewish fiancé to his mother.

History and Knowledge with a PASSION

Our group visited Majorca with a curiosity of how Jewish life here was different than in other parts of Spain. Dani shared with us his knowledge and most importantly was able to share his PASSION for Majorca and the Jewish history that had transpired on this island. We have taken many Jewish tours and this by far was the best of the trip and probably ranks up there with any that we have taken. Loved the restaurant that we went to for lunch and he asked us to trust him on ordering and was the best lunch of the entire trip. he is an excellent guide giving the appropriate amount of backdrop to the locations that we visited and sharing his personal experiences with the locals - of which he is now part of the community. Thanks Dani for a great day and a highlight for our trip. Will definitely recommend to our friends and family!!

Secrets of Jewish Majorca - Full Day Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mallorca.

How much does Secrets of Jewish Majorca - Full Day Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $260 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mallorca usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Secrets of Jewish Majorca - Full Day Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mallorca is not rushed.

Is Secrets of Jewish Majorca - Full Day Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mallorca, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Secrets of Jewish Majorca - Full Day Experience?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Secrets of Jewish Majorca - Full Day Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Secrets of Jewish Majorca - Full Day Experience?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mallorca can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mallorca and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Secrets of Jewish Majorca - Full Day Experience start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mallorca within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mallorca?

    +

On Outty we rank every Mallorca experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mallorca Full Day Tour Valldemossa Deià and Sóller Experience, Best Mallorca Coves: Paddle Surf, Snorkeling and Guide, 3 Hours E-Bike Tour in Palma. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mallorca?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mallorca?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
