Captain Chris did a great...
Captain Chris did a great job of explaining different sights along the way and got us out in the gulf to see a beautiful sunset! On the way back we stopped at One Tree Island and got some great photos! We had a really great time!
Response from the operator: Kelli, thank you so much for the kind words! 🌅 I’m so glad you enjoyed the Sunsets Done Right cruise. Getting out into the Gulf for that wide-open sunset view is always special, and I love sharing some of the local sights along the way. Stopping at One Tree Island for photos on the way back is one of my favorite little bonus moments — it’s such a peaceful spot to wrap up the evening. I’m thrilled you had a great time! Thanks again for coming out on the water with me, and I’d love to see you back in Clearwater for another adventure soon. ⚓🌴 — Captain Chris

Hire a Local Captain and Don't Think Twice!
Instead of getting on a crowded boat with dozens of strangers, go out with a local captain who owns his own boat and focuses entirely on you and your family. Captain Chris is a Florida native and a U.S. Coast Guard–certified captain who knows the Clearwater waters inside and out. He’s friendly, communicates clearly, and genuinely wants you to have a great experience. Salt Therapy is a comfortable boat that’s perfect for a family, and Chris tailors each trip to the conditions and to what you want to do. A memorable experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the kind words and thoughtful review! 🌅 It truly means a lot to hear that you appreciated the personalized, laid-back experience we aim to deliver on every cruise. Keeping things private, uncrowded, and tailored to each group is exactly why I started Captain Clearwater, so I’m glad that came through. Sharing the local waters aboard Salt Therapy and making sure everyone feels comfortable, relaxed, and well taken care of is always the goal. I really appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome you back on the water again someday — there’s always more to explore out here. ⚓🌴 — Captain Chris

The Proposal Boat
The private sunset cruise was fantastic. Captain Chris made the whole experience easy and stress free for a group of 4 from Chicago. In addition, I proposed to my Girlfriend with her kids at sunset and it was fantastic. Just the 4 of us and Captain Chris who had no idea I was going to do it until 10 seconds before it happened. He took pictures, had drinks ready for us to celebrate and made it a memorable wonderful experience we will never forget.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Joe! I’m truly honored you chose Sunsets Done Right for such an important moment — that proposal was unforgettable, and I’m glad I could help capture it and celebrate with you all. The fact that you were in town closing on a house and getting ready to make the move to Tampa makes it even more special. What a way to kick off a new chapter together. It was a pleasure having your Chicago crew aboard, and I’m thrilled the evening was stress-free and memorable for all four of you. Welcome (almost officially!) to the area — I hope this won’t be your last sunset aboard Salt Therapy. 🌅💍⚓ Captain Chris

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Seasonal (OCT-MAR) Sunset Cruise – Clearwater Private Cruise: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Clearwater.
How much does Seasonal (OCT-MAR) Sunset Cruise – Clearwater Private Cruise cost?
+
Prices start at $260 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Clearwater usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Seasonal (OCT-MAR) Sunset Cruise – Clearwater Private Cruise take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Clearwater is not rushed.
Is Seasonal (OCT-MAR) Sunset Cruise – Clearwater Private Cruise worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Clearwater, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Seasonal (OCT-MAR) Sunset Cruise – Clearwater Private Cruise?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Seasonal (OCT-MAR) Sunset Cruise – Clearwater Private Cruise suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Seasonal (OCT-MAR) Sunset Cruise – Clearwater Private Cruise?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Clearwater can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Clearwater and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Seasonal (OCT-MAR) Sunset Cruise – Clearwater Private Cruise start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Clearwater within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Clearwater?
+
Clearwater Beach fills its calendar with dolphin cruises, pirate-themed family sails, parasailing, jet ski tours around Caladesi Island and sunset trips off Pier 60. On Outty we rank every Clearwater experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Little Toot Dolphin Adventure at Clearwater Beach, Clearwater Encounters with Dolphins Tour, Clearwater Beach Parasailing Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Clearwater?
+
March to May and October to November for warm water without peak crowds. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Clearwater?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
