Reykjavik fishing trip
Great fun fishing. Everyone on the boat caught lots of fish and then we enjoyed a nice meal afterwards. Can’t get any fresher than that. Captain and mates were amazing. What a great time.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your fantastic review! We're so glad to hear that you had a great time out on the water. It's wonderful that everyone on board caught plenty of fish and got to enjoy a delicious fresh meal afterward. There's truly nothing quite like eating fish you've just caught yourself! We'll be sure to pass your kind words on to the captain and crew. Thank you for joining us!

Best excursion of our cruise!
I was in a group of 5 members of my family. The trip was a small group (maybe 20?) which was nice and the crew was spectacular! The captain moved the boat a couple times to ensure we were in a good fishing spot. Everyone caught fish and they cooked up a nice meal of fresh fish to enjoy while still on the boat. I highly, highly recommend this trip!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that your family enjoyed the sea angling tour. It's great to know that the small group size made for a more enjoyable experience and that our crew helped make the trip memorable. We're especially pleased that everyone caught fish and that you enjoyed the freshly prepared meal onboard. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we hope to welcome you and your family back for another fishing adventure in the future!

Fantastic sea fishing and extraordinary crew
Fantastic sea fishing trip! Caught many Cod and haddock. All rods and tackle were set up and the crew were extremely helpful and friendly. Really let you just enjoy fishing and the environment. And they cooked up the fish immediately, we feasted like kings! Many thanks to the crew Samual, Livia, and Patrick. They were helpful and super friendly, took lots of pics and made sure everyone had a good time. Would absolutely fish with this crew and company again. Thanks!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear you had such a successful fishing trip and enjoyed catching plenty of cod and haddock. We'll be sure to pass your kind words on to Samuel, Livia, and Patrick. It's wonderful to know they helped make the experience so memorable. We're especially glad you enjoyed tasting your fresh catch onboard. Thank you for fishing with us, and we look forward to welcoming you back again!

Unfortunately, this...
Unfortunately, this charter didn’t live up to our expectations. Out of 17 people, I believe only two caught fish. The crew was helpful if you lost a lure or landed a fish, but there was very little guidance or effort to help people actually catch fish. Everyone had to fish on right side of boat which made it very cramped. The boat ride itself was beautiful, but the anglers weren’t very personable or engaging, which made the experience feel disappointing. Overall, it wasn’t worth the price we paid but we tried it.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. While our crew is always happy to assist with equipment, replace lost lures, and help when fish are landed, we apologize if you felt that there was not enough guidance during the tour. We appreciate this feedback and will share it with the team. The number of fish caught can vary from trip to trip, as sea angling is highly dependent on natural conditions and fish activity on the day. Fortunately, it is not common for catches to be as limited as you experienced, but it can occasionally happen. Regarding the fishing positions, guests fish from the same side of the vessel to help prevent lines from crossing and tangling, ensuring a safer and smoother experience for everyone on board, especially when the boat is moving. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the scenery during the cruise, and we appreciate you giving the tour a try. Thank you again for your comments, and we wish you a wonderful rest of your time in Iceland.

Rough weather equals delicious fish
The crew is very friendly, and knowledgeable about the local marine wildlife. The sea state that day was category 4, with waves up to 8 feet. A bit rough with the boat positioned broadside to the waves, with a lot of people struggling to keep their footing. We were given short , deep sea fishing rods, with double eel imitation lures. We dropped them straight down to the bottom and did some simple lifting and jigging of the lures. A simple but effective technique. We caught some cod and pollock, and the crew did a great job grilling them with some potatoes. other than the rough seas, it was an enjoyable day and we had a lot of fun.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review! Indeed, the Icelandic waters can be quite rough, and it is good to be prepared. We are, however, glad you caught fish and had fun during our tour!

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sea Fishing Experience from Reykjavik: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does Sea Fishing Experience from Reykjavik cost?
+
Prices start at $98 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sea Fishing Experience from Reykjavik take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is Sea Fishing Experience from Reykjavik worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 130 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sea Fishing Experience from Reykjavik?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sea Fishing Experience from Reykjavik suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sea Fishing Experience from Reykjavik?
+
Around 46 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sea Fishing Experience from Reykjavik start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
