Memorable dive — great staff and safety, but some things to improve
I booked this scuba dive as a late birthday gift for my fiancé, we also got engaged a few days earlier, so it was a really special trip for us. Overall, it was an incredible experience, but there were a few things that could have been better. The good: · The staff were genuinely nice and helpful. They made small talk with us while helping us put on our gear, and they even had nausea gum on the boat for anyone who felt seasick. · They also offered hotel pick-up and drop-off, which made the whole experience much easier and less stressful. · Safety was a clear priority. There was one instructor plus two other professionals watching us from above the whole time. That level of attention made me feel safer, especially as a first-time diver. The issues: · Goggles: My goggles weren't put on correctly, so water slowly leaked in throughout the dive, enough to be uncomfortable, but not completely filled. One of the professionals watching me noticed and told me to surface. He even said it wasn't my fault and that they should have double-checked with me before we went down. · Weight distribution: The weights around my waist plus the oxygen tank felt really heavy on me, so I felt weighed down. Meanwhile, my fiancé felt like his weights weren't heavy enough and felt like he kept floating up. It felt like a potential hazard, if I didn't know how to swim, I honestly think I could have been in danger. · Group separation: About halfway through, I couldn't see my fiancé or the other girl in our group. The only person with me was one of the professionals. I think the instructor should have made sure everyone stayed together. Cleanliness: When we ordered drinks on the boat to help with nausea, the woman behind the bar was kind and recommended Coke. But when she handed us the cans, the lids had some kind of grimy meat/food residue on them. She dunked and shook them in a tub of water, but they were still dirty. I had to wipe mine and my fiancé’s can down with hand sanitizer and pick grime out of the nook, not great for anyone, especially a germaphobe. · Photos: The instructor was the only one with a camera (we weren't allowed to take our phones down). We paid €25 for the photos, but most of them were of my fiancé. I wish there were more of me but honestly, I love him, so I don't mind looking at him lol. Still, for the price, it would have been nice to have more balance. Final thoughts: Despite the issues, it was still an amazing experience and I'm glad we did it. The staff were kind, the hotel pick-up was super convenient, and safety was taken seriously. But the goggles, weight distribution, and photo situation really could have been handled better.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the understanding ,we will take care about the issues with the dive staff.

Excellent
Very professional, experience and knowledgeable staff. A great trip for adult and 14 year old. Offered the opportunity to complete the PADI course and this was arranged perfectly and smoothly end to end. Faultless experience and highly recommend for divers of all experience.

Certified Scuba
My two teenage boys decided to get scuba certified. Over 2 fun days, Ryan taught us the ins and outs. He was patient and a good teacher. The entire crew was friendly and accommodating. While they sell some sandwiches and chips on board, best to bring a picnic lunch if you think you’ll get hungry. About 60 people on the boat each day but didn’t really feel that crowded. Would definitely recommend.

A wet visit
We revisited the town of Rhodes to show a family member how wonderful it is. We only got to show him a small amount of this wonderful place due to an unexpected rain storm which lasted 3 hours and soaked us all. We still got to show him parts of Rhodes which he found fascinating and well worth the visit. We left Rhodes with the unusual souvenirs of 3 umbrellas 😳☂️

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
SCUBA DIVE: Kallithea's Underwater Exploration: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rhodes.
How much does SCUBA DIVE: Kallithea's Underwater Exploration cost?
+
Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rhodes usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does SCUBA DIVE: Kallithea's Underwater Exploration take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rhodes is not rushed.
Is SCUBA DIVE: Kallithea's Underwater Exploration worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rhodes, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule SCUBA DIVE: Kallithea's Underwater Exploration?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is SCUBA DIVE: Kallithea's Underwater Exploration suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book SCUBA DIVE: Kallithea's Underwater Exploration?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rhodes can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rhodes and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does SCUBA DIVE: Kallithea's Underwater Exploration start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rhodes within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rhodes?
+
On Outty we rank every Rhodes experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Makarounas Fishing Boat Trip with swimming stop and BBQ on board, Athens cruise: Agistri, Moni/Metopi, Aegina with lunch & drinks, Rhodes Sea Kayaking Tour – The Pirates Route. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rhodes?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rhodes?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
