Best tour if you want to know more about Sarajevos recent history and siege 1992 - 1995. Includes visit to Tunnel of Hope Museum. Tunnel of Hope was an underground tunnel constructed between March and June 1993 during the Siege of Sarajevo in the midst of the Bosnian War. It was built by the Bosnian Army in order to link the city of Sarajevo, which was entirely cut off by Serbian forces, with Bosnian-held territory on the other side of the Sarajevo Airport, an area controlled by the United Nations. The tunnel linked the Sarajevo neighborhoods of Dobrinja and Butmir, allowing food, war supplies, and humanitarian aid to come into the city, and allowing people to get out. The tunnel became a major way of bypassing the international arms embargo and providing the city defenders with weaponry. This tour also includes visit to Bobsled on Trebević mountain, build for 1984 Olympic games.

One of the best tours in my life!

I booked this tour without knowing anything about it and at the end I was so inspired by all of the info Haris gave to me. He know a lot about anything you could ask. He picks you up next to the hostel and drives you back at the end of the tour. He even gave me recommendations about which movies to watch related to the history of Sarajevo. It felt like a private VIP tour and I loved it!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much my friend, I m glad that you liked it. Hope we see you again soon. Best regards.

    Rock on

Great dude, great tour. Haris' company is as worthwhile as the tour. And another thirty two characters.

Response from the operator: Thank you :-)

Great tour to start exploring recent history of Sarajevo.

Haris makes the whole difference - as much as he shares the stories about Tunnel Museum and how it came to be, he tells you more personal stories about his own experience during the last war in Bosnia, and his memories about tunnel, sniper alley and how people lived during those dark days. Great value for money. I definitely recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank You :-)

    Tunnel of hope

One of the best tour I did traveling around the balkans. It's Great experience not only cause you learn about Bosnian history also cause the way the history was tell was by first person, no one gonna tell you better that what happened than someone that had lived it. Absolutely recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank You :-)

Interesting, exciting and most importantly the truth

All stories from the wars have something thrilling about them because they make us feel with the people that lived through them. It is unique to get exactly this feeling about the whole situation in Sarajevo during the hard times and see how the people coped with it. If you are interested in an urban tour with interesting facts you should do the tour!

Response from the operator: Thank You :-)

Sarajevo War Tour with TRAVELPLUS: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sarajevo.

How much does Sarajevo War Tour with TRAVELPLUS cost?

    +

Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sarajevo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sarajevo War Tour with TRAVELPLUS take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sarajevo is not rushed.

Is Sarajevo War Tour with TRAVELPLUS worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sarajevo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sarajevo War Tour with TRAVELPLUS?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sarajevo War Tour with TRAVELPLUS suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sarajevo War Tour with TRAVELPLUS?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sarajevo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sarajevo and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sarajevo War Tour with TRAVELPLUS start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sarajevo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sarajevo?

    +

On Outty we rank every Sarajevo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Fall of Yugoslavia, Sarajevo War Tour with Tunnel of Hope Museum and Frontlines, From Sarajevo: Srebrenica Genocide Memorial Study Tour, Tunnel Museum: Bosnian & Yugoslav Wars Tour with War Veteran. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sarajevo?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sarajevo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Sarajevo War Tour with TRAVELPLUS?

    +

Included: In-vehicle air conditioning; and Tea and coffee. Not included: Entry ticket for Tunnel museum. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
