Sarajevo – Mostar Herzegovina Adventures Day Tour

Nice places - but choose another tour operator

The places we went to on this tour were very nice, and we really recommend going on a day trip to Hercegovina. However, we would not choose this tour operator again. We went with Faruk and there were a few things we didn’t like. First, the itinerary said the tour would last 8-10 hrs, but we spent 13 hrs. And we even missed two places on the itinerary. Faruk never asked if it was ok to miss these places - we just never made it there. He actually never asked what we wanted on the tour, even if it was a private tour for just me and my friend, and supposedly we should have the opportunity to adjust the plan (we didn’t). He also made us pay for his lunch, which was strange (it was not stated up front that this was expected). He is knowledgeable about the places we visited, so that was nice, but he spent most of the time telling stories about himself and about other guests he had on previous trips, which was not very interesting.

I must admit, I was surprised by your review and rating, especially as no concerns were raised during the tour itself. Throughout the day, I understood that you and Trude were enjoying the journey, and I tried to ensure everything was tailored to your preferences. If at any point something was not to your liking, I would have appreciated the chance to address it immediately. I'm sorry if I did something wrong during the tour. I thought I did everything according to what you wanted, and it looked like you were having a great time. The whole tour was adjusted so that you would enjoy the trip, which is what we specialize in. After 15 years in the tourism business and (just for this summer season) more than 100 other worldwide travelers who have been with us, have confirmed that they had a great time, superb experience, and gave us a 5-star rating, which we have achieved over the years. We have never had this kind of bad rating and review from our guests, which is why I'm in shock. So let’s summarize the whole custom-adjusted trip: Adjusted pick-up time by business-class van just for two people, so that you have more space and comfort during the trip. Explaining along the way about the region, why the area is famous, and then taking you for a coffee break (which is not included in the tour, but I invited you and paid for it) to enjoy the beautiful view of Jablanica Lake. Timing was adjusted so you could avoid the hottest part of the day and travel in a climatized car to the next destination. We visited historical spots in the town of Jablanica, then a surprise panoramic viewpoint to see the whole Mostar valley. You seemed to enjoy the Fortica viewpoint and walking on the glass bridge. Then we adjusted the time for lunch and visited Blagaj Old Town, where we had lunch near the River Buna. At the moment when the waiter brought you the bill for lunch, I was talking with friends from the restaurant on the other side, and you paid for my lunch as well (which cost €10.50). As I recall, I said nicely, “Thank you for lunch,” but you never mentioned that this was a problem. I could have refunded it on the spot, which would have been fine with me, but you didn’t mention it. Afterwards, I showed you the best spot to see the Tekke House and explore the spring of the River Buna in a cave—another surprise location where you could see a natural wonder and cool off from the heat, which at that point it was 42°C. Then you and Trude said, “Are we going now for swimming at Kravice Waterfalls?” We had one more short surprise stop to see the Buna channels, and then we arrived at the waterfalls. When we arrived, the big crowds of tourists had started to leave, which was perfect timing, so you had more space for swimming. At all stops and locations, you had no time limits—you stayed as long as you wanted. Also, to avoid the burning heat along the tour, we did not go to the Old Town of Počitelj, which is exposed to direct sun the whole day. After Kravice Waterfalls, you expressed a desire to go shopping in Mostar. After providing you with basic information about the Old Town and the bridge, you had unlimited time to enjoy Old Town Mostar and shop for souvenirs. Then after shopping, we drove back to Sarajevo. On the way back, I thought you had a great time—you were chatting the whole way with your friend Trude. I never got the impression that anything was wrong, or that I had done something you were unhappy with. If you had said something, I could have fixed it or done it differently; it would not have been a problem for me at all. In over 15 years of organizing private tours, we have hosted hundreds of travelers from around the world and consistently received positive feedback. Your review was the first of its kind for us, which is why it came as such a shock. However, I fully respect your opinion, and I am very sorry that we did not meet your expectations. We continuously strive to improve, and your feedback, while difficult to hear, is valuable to us. Amazing day with Faruk from Sarajevo to Mostar and many places in between. I was solo, and he was kind enough to do this tour with just me. He tailored the experience to what I wanted to see and truly made me feel like a VIP.

Amazing and best experience

We went on a 3 day tour with 11 of us with Faruk and Leila. They were the best tour guides!! They were both so reliable and took us to see so many beautiful destinations. They were so friendly and nice and accommodated all of our needs. They also picked us up from the airport and dropped us off. All of our family really loved every day of the tours.

Best tour of our lives

By far the best tour we have ever been on in our lives. This tour is worth 10x the price we paid, Faruk was unbelievable. From the level of tailored customer service he provided, knowledge of the city, knowing all the hidden gems, history and general nature, it was amazing. We went to Bosnia with brief expectations having watched a few online videos but this tour superseded our expectations. I couldn’t recommend this tour and Faruk enough!
