About this experience
Nestled in the Hoàng Liên Son Mountains in Vietnam’s northwest, Sa Pa seems out of reach for most travelers to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, although it offers a unique view of Hmong life for those that make the journey. This tour combines two night trains to allow travelers to travel north to Sa Pa and see the area’s highlights with only two days out of Hanoi. Even if you’re only in Vietnam for a short time, this tour makes a visit to Sa Pa possible. Trekking down to Lao Chai village to visit the Tay and Dzay tribes then keep going along the bottom of the Sapa valley to get to Ta Van village, which supposed to be the most beautiful one in the area. Trekking to Cat Cat villages of Black H’Mong tribe. Enjoy the waterfall in Cat Cat and beautiful scenery along the way.

Great trekking tour with beautiful scenery and a peak at the lives of the Hmong people
This tour is well worth it. Be warned, the trek is not for the feint hearted, its a lot of uphill rocky terrain in very hot humid conditions, but the scenery is beautiful. I think we clocked about 20k over the 2 days (a lot of steep ups and downs). Our guide Mi was fun, friendly, knowledgeable and took great care of us. The timing of the tour (early morning until about 2pm) means you have plenty of free time for napping, shopping, exploring on your own etc. The overnight bus was as comfortable as expected, bring a sleeping mask and ear plugs. Double check you have power in your unit before pulling off (some didn't have power which meant dead phones upon arrival and little time to charge up). The hotel is basic but had everything we needed, the food is average but we were very hungry after the hikes and it did the job. We got some snacks in Sapa afterwards where there's tons of choice. The area has many reasonable massage places to relax your muscles after the hike. One thing to note which was a slight spoiler, the local women and children selling bags, trinkets etc are very intense when in Sapa itself. Despite us buying a few bits to support them, we were harangued throughout the trip and made to feel guilty at times for not buying something off every person. Finally, we were supposed to have the overnight train included as transport from Hanoi, but we're glad this got switched for a cabin bus in the end. The tour is well organised, offers a chance to learn about Vietnam's minority populations and a nice escape from the busy cities.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your information. We are very happy to help you!

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sapa Tour 2 Days 1 Night (1 Night Hotel + 2 Nights on Train): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Sapa Tour 2 Days 1 Night (1 Night Hotel + 2 Nights on Train) cost?
+
Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sapa Tour 2 Days 1 Night (1 Night Hotel + 2 Nights on Train) take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Sapa Tour 2 Days 1 Night (1 Night Hotel + 2 Nights on Train) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sapa Tour 2 Days 1 Night (1 Night Hotel + 2 Nights on Train)?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Sapa Tour 2 Days 1 Night (1 Night Hotel + 2 Nights on Train) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sapa Tour 2 Days 1 Night (1 Night Hotel + 2 Nights on Train)?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sapa Tour 2 Days 1 Night (1 Night Hotel + 2 Nights on Train) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
