Not good, spent most of...

Not good, spent most of the time transporting different vehicles and waiting around. only had 1 hour at the actual island and we were told 1.5 but then an hour in the boat tried to leave without us and we had to practically swim to the boat through a forest of seaweed. we got back home 1 hour later than we were told. food was mid, drinks didn’t get us any level of drunk. only redeeming part was the views and the fact i went thru it with my friend lol

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that parts of the excursion did not meet your expectations. The itinerary is followed as outlined prior to booking, and the experience includes both land and maritime transportation, as Saona Island is located outside of Punta Cana. Travel time is an essential part of reaching such a beautiful destination and is reflected in the overall schedule. Saona Island time is carefully planned within the day’s logistics, though minor adjustments can occasionally happen due to operational or environmental factors. We understand how important timing is and regret if this impacted your experience. Our excursion includes an open bar throughout the trip; however, we maintain responsible service practices to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests. The goal is a fun, relaxed atmosphere—not a race to see who can forget the ride home. We’re glad you were able to enjoy the views and share the experience with your friend—those moments are what make the journey worthwhile. We also encourage reviewing the full tour details in advance so expectations align with the structure of the experience. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to welcome you again on one of our experiences

Brush up on your Spanish or end up on the wrong bus

They should be aware that there are several changes in transportation and that the drivers do not communicate in English.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. As stated in the tour description, the experience includes multiple transportation changes to minimize the time it takes to pick all guests from hotels and the transfer drivers generally do not speak English. However, our office staff stays in constant communication with guests throughout the entire process to ensure everything runs smoothly. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts as it helps us continue improving.

Saona Island Full Day Tour with Buffet Lunch, Paella, & Open Bar: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Saona Island Full Day Tour with Buffet Lunch, Paella, & Open Bar cost?

+

Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Saona Island Full Day Tour with Buffet Lunch, Paella, & Open Bar take?

+

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Saona Island Full Day Tour with Buffet Lunch, Paella, & Open Bar worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Saona Island Full Day Tour with Buffet Lunch, Paella, & Open Bar?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Saona Island Full Day Tour with Buffet Lunch, Paella, & Open Bar suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Saona Island Full Day Tour with Buffet Lunch, Paella, & Open Bar?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Saona Island Full Day Tour with Buffet Lunch, Paella, & Open Bar start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

+

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
