10/10 recommend for anyone visiting Chengdu

Fantastic tour taking us to the new section of the panda research base first when there were virtually no other people there. SanXingDui is almost other worldly and one of the coolest museums I have ever been to.

Fabulous Visit But A Good Guide Makes a Huge Difference

It was a great visit to Sanxingdui Museum to see the antient artifacts and cultures of a lost people. Our guide Cora was very helpful. My husband has limited mobility. Cora was able to arrange a wheelchair and she pushed the wheelchair the entire time while we were at the museum. It was crowded at the museum and she made sure to get to the front of the crowd so that my husband could see the exhibits up and close. The lunch was delicious and the panda preserve was a beautiful place. It was great to see pandas in their natural habitat. I got sick during the days in Chengdu and needed assistance to get on the train at Chengdu train station. In desperate, I contacted Cora and she was able find us personal helpers at Chengdu train station. When we arrived at the station by taxi, the helpers were there waiting for us. They wheelchaired us into the station and onto the train with our luggage in tow. It was such a smooth and pleasant journey. I would definitely recommend Cora as a guide when visiting Chengdu.

Response from the operator: Dear Hua, it is such a great pleasure to see your appreciation of Sanxingdui Museum, tour guide, which is just what our service hoped to bring to you. And welcome you to choose service of China Exploration again in future, we are always there waiting for you.

Excellent trip and I highly recommend anyone who wants to have more personalized experience in Chengdu

We loved the tour. Our tour guide, Hogo is very responsive, kind, knowledgeable and speaks good English. He reminded us to bring umbrella. At the panda base, he told us many things about panda, their habitat, history. The lunch was local and delicious. Samxingdui museum was really crowded. He managed to get us to less crowded area and told us all the stories about the museum and Sanxingdui culture. My 17 year old daughter and I are very impressed about everything. If we come back, we will definitely contact Hogo again.

Fun and get to know a lost civilization

Enjoyed several minutes watching baby panda playing, climbing, rolling, hanging upside down until mama panda stopped her. My guide, Veronica, was very friendly and informative. Excellent day trip.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for taking service of China Exploration. Our pleasure to see you are satisfied with our guide. Welcome back again in near future.

Sanxingdui Ruins and Giant Pandas Private Day Tour from Chengdu: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chengdu.

How much does Sanxingdui Ruins and Giant Pandas Private Day Tour from Chengdu cost?

    +

Prices start at $160 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chengdu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sanxingdui Ruins and Giant Pandas Private Day Tour from Chengdu take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chengdu is not rushed.

Is Sanxingdui Ruins and Giant Pandas Private Day Tour from Chengdu worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chengdu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sanxingdui Ruins and Giant Pandas Private Day Tour from Chengdu?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sanxingdui Ruins and Giant Pandas Private Day Tour from Chengdu suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sanxingdui Ruins and Giant Pandas Private Day Tour from Chengdu?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chengdu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chengdu and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sanxingdui Ruins and Giant Pandas Private Day Tour from Chengdu start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chengdu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chengdu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Chengdu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chengdu Cooking Class with a Local Market Visit, Private Chengdu Day Tour: Giant Pandas and Jinsha Site Museum, Tuktuk Food Tour Through Chengdu's Local Eats. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chengdu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chengdu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
