Fantastic crew, clear instructions and stress free sailing!

Fantastic tour, everything ran to plan with no disruptions or delays. I stayed in Perissa, and the pickup point was the Meltemi Village Hotel. The Viator booking says from your hotel, but be prepared to walk to a mutual pick up point from some locations. Perissa is quite small and Meltemi Village Hotel is easy to find. The NST travel team communicated the location and time via the Viator app and email days before, so there were no issues. The port doesn’t have a sign where to go, but the staff are great and made sure people were in the correct line with their ticket. Dada (our guide) was fantastic and made sure everyone had their ticket and knew what was happening at every stage. It’s worth noting that the kiosk on the Volcano hike now accepts card payment. Wearing closed walking shoes is a must, as the path is loose gravel and steep at times. Visitors wearing flip flops/crocs/slides struggled. There is strict return time as there are several tour boats moored together at the dock and rely on all passengers being aboard before the other boats can also leave. The same occurs at the lunch stop. Captain John’s was fabulous for lunch in Thirasia, fresh seafood grilled to order! The crossing after lunch back to the port was rough due to high winds, be prepared if waves make you seasick. The crew were great and made sure everyone was seated safely and reassured nervous passengers. Worth noting that our boat didn’t have a sun shade, but it’s fine with sunscreen, hat etc. The bar is reasonably priced and sells small snacks. Before we left the boat, we were told clearly which bus to get on depending on the number on our ticket. The buses also had the matching number on their windows. The bus driver made it clear where to meet him after the Oia sunset. There were several other buses there, but the staff were great and helped people on the correct bus. Be prepared that the bus you arrive on may not be the bus you leave on, so take your belongings with you if the driver directs you. We had to wait for passengers to return and remove their belongings before we were allowed to board, but it wasn’t a problem. The staff are aware that this is where many reviews say that people get confused, and they are working to make it clearer for passengers. I would 100% recommend this tour. Be prepared for it to be a long day though, and the return bus ride back to Perissa to be quite long. Thanks to all the staff who made the day so great!!

Response from the operator: Dear guests, Thank you so much for your wonderful and incredibly detailed review! We're delighted to hear that you had such an enjoyable experience and that everything ran smoothly throughout the day. It means a lot to us that you appreciated the communication before the tour, as well as the efforts of Dada, our crew, drivers, and port staff to ensure everything was well organized. We also truly appreciate you sharing so many helpful tips for future travelers—from the pickup arrangements and appropriate footwear for the volcano hike to the boarding process and sunset bus transfers. Feedback like yours is invaluable and will certainly help other guests prepare for the experience. Thank you as well for recognizing that we are continuously working to make the bus transfer process even clearer. We are always looking for ways to improve while ensuring everyone enjoys a safe and memorable day. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we sincerely hope to welcome you back to Santorini for another unforgettable experience in the future!

Great trip and excellent value for money

We were picked up minutes from hotel and taken on air con coach to port. All day boat trip to volcano and hot walk up high to see magnificent views. Then back onto boat to another island for lunch and swimming. Staff on land boat very helpful and friendly. Had great day even though longer than we expected

Response from the operator: Dear guests, We are delighted to hear that you had a great day and enjoyed the volcano, the breathtaking views, and the stop for lunch and swimming. It's also wonderful to know that you found our staff both on the coach and on the boat to be friendly and helpful throughout the experience. We appreciate your feedback regarding the duration of the tour. While it is a full-day excursion designed to allow guests to experience several of Santorini's highlights, we understand that it may feel longer than expected. Thank you for choosing NST Travel. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable experience in Santorini! Kind Regards, NST Travel Team

We saw so much of the island and learnt so much about the history which gave us a really good base for the rest of our trip. Everything was really well paced and accommodating for all. Santorini by Boat; At-A-Glance

The experience was good overall; but, I had mixed feelings about Thirassi as the visit (about 2-hours) was one of welcome and a little bit you’re not welcome. It’s hard to explain except to say some establishments weren’t friendly. The boat ride was good and the staff/crew were cordial and polite. The communication system (speaker system) can be upgraded or add a couple of more speakers in the bow and stern so that the tour guide can be heard. Yes, I would still recommend the tour to others even with my one caveat. Thanks!

Santorini Volcanic Islands Cruise: Volcano,Hot Springs,Thirassia and Oia Sunset: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.

How much does Santorini Volcanic Islands Cruise: Volcano,Hot Springs,Thirassia and Oia Sunset cost?

    +

Prices start at $29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Santorini Volcanic Islands Cruise: Volcano,Hot Springs,Thirassia and Oia Sunset take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.

Is Santorini Volcanic Islands Cruise: Volcano,Hot Springs,Thirassia and Oia Sunset worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 147 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Santorini Volcanic Islands Cruise: Volcano,Hot Springs,Thirassia and Oia Sunset?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Santorini Volcanic Islands Cruise: Volcano,Hot Springs,Thirassia and Oia Sunset suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Santorini Volcanic Islands Cruise: Volcano,Hot Springs,Thirassia and Oia Sunset?

    +

Around 51 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Santorini Volcanic Islands Cruise: Volcano,Hot Springs,Thirassia and Oia Sunset start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santorini?

    +

On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Classic Santorini Panorama: Visit Top Destinations. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santorini?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santorini?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
