Beware of the tourist trap
George was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable about the island and the history. Santorini was very hilly (it was hot too on the day we went). This was a BIG challenge for my mom, who is 70. If you aren’t in shape, this is going to be hard. Also, we learned on our excursion, the tour guides take you to a black sand beach at the end of a long, hot tour with restaurants. By this point you are hungry and thirsty. The restaurant owners offer you a “meat plate appetizer to share” and the food is great and it can feed 20 people BUT they will charge you 500 euro. Request a menu instead and order what you want to eat and can afford. It’s a big scam by the locals on unsuspecting tourists. Don’t fall into that trap like we did.

Early bird gets the worm
Arthur was exceptional. He was knowledgeable and very friendly and very flexible. He worked very well with our family and we enjoyed this company throughout the day. I would highly recommend him and this tour to anyone visiting center. Because we had an early start time we avoided all the crowds, and Arthur knew exactly where to go and knew all the tricks to avoid the long lines for the best pictures.

Wonderful tour in Santorini with an amazing guide, Petros! Strongly recommend for seeing all the major sights in comfort
This was the highlight of our Santorini trip largely due to the amazing guide, Petros! He was fabulous and took the time to show us all the major sights in Santorini in a comfortable luxurious van. Petros was patient, informative, kind and funny. He offered to take photos of us and even took some on his own phone when ours weren’t working well and then texted to us the photos later. He extended our tour as we were the only ones that day and offered us to have lunch at the beach while he waited for us at another table. Petros made the day so enjoyable. We’ve had many tours throughout the past few years but this one far exceeded any others. Highly recommend this personal tour with Petros! You will be so happy that you did! Thank you Petros for an amazing day in Santorini we will remember fondly forever. Wishing you all the very best.

Fantastic Santorini tour!
Our Sartorini tour was super fun. We were very thankful for our tour guide, Arthur, for making sure we made the most of our time in Santorini. Because of his knowledge and experience, we were able to visit places at the best times. Arthur was also very flexible and allowed us to manage time based on our preferences. Will definitely recommend this tour to family and friends.

Why this scores 82
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Santorini Private half-day tours: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.
How much does Santorini Private half-day tours cost?
+
Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Santorini Private half-day tours take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.
Is Santorini Private half-day tours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 88 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Santorini Private half-day tours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Santorini Private half-day tours suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Santorini Private half-day tours?
+
Around 31 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Santorini Private half-day tours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santorini?
+
On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Classic Santorini Panorama: Visit Top Destinations. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santorini?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santorini?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
