What you get

    About this experience

Santiago is one of the most popular destination for catholic pilgrims in the whole world. Is the capital of Galiza (Spain), and is the location of the Santiago Cathedral (1075 – 1128), where the remains of Santiago the Apostolic can be founded. The Routes to Santiago are humanity heritage by UNESCO and are used by thousands every day on the journey to the religious capital of the Iberian Peninsula. On our tour we will dedicate the morning to visit the cathedral, and after lunch hanging around the middle age city of Santiago, discovering some secrets in its narrow streets. On the return there’s also a stop in Valença do Minho, the Portuguese border city at the top north. Here we will focus our visit in the fortification with roots from the XII and visible reconstruction from the XVIII. A unique view for the city, Minho river (natural border), and Spanish side.

    Ricardo our guide and...

Ricardo our guide and driver was excellent! Very patient with our photo taking and he had a wonderful personality. Never felt rushed. Just a wonderful experience with him.

Response from the operator: Hello my friends! No problem with taking photos, or even taking them myself! It's good practice for a possible part-time job! :) Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure meeting you and showing you the charms of Santiago de Compostela. Best regards, Ricardo Costa

    Nice trip with Ricardo....

Nice trip with Ricardo. Everything went as expected. Private tour in comfortable van. I would recommend him

Response from the operator: Thank you so much my friends! This visit to Santiago de Compostela from Porto involves a somewhat bigger car journey, if we compare it with other destinations we visit like Braga or the Douro Valley... but with some conversation and good cheer along the way, everything becomes different, and makes it worth it! It was a pleasure to have accompanied you on this tour. Thank you again for your kindness. Cheers, Ricardo Costa

    A great day out

We had an amazing day despite the weather, our guide Ricardo Costa looked after our every need. I would highly recommend him.

Response from the operator: Yes... what bad weather we had. Fortunately, with enthusiasm and a good mood we managed to have a productive day and visit all the planned points. Thank you so much for your company and kindness! It was a pleasure to meet you. I hope that the image you take from Portugal and Santiago remains blue, yellow and green and that you visit us again soon. Best wishes, Ricardo

Santiago de Compostela & Valença do Minho - from Porto: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.

How much does Santiago de Compostela & Valença do Minho - from Porto cost?

    +

Prices start at $195 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Santiago de Compostela & Valença do Minho - from Porto take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.

Is Santiago de Compostela & Valença do Minho - from Porto worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Santiago de Compostela & Valença do Minho - from Porto?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Santiago de Compostela & Valença do Minho - from Porto suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Santiago de Compostela & Valença do Minho - from Porto?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Santiago de Compostela & Valença do Minho - from Porto start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Porto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Porto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Porto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
