San Sebastian del Oeste
Marvel at this beautiful remote village and the mountains carpeted in dense tropical vegetation. To arrive in San Sebastian del Oeste is to take a step back in time. This antiquated town dates back to 1605 and was made famous by its plentiful silver mines. Today, with only 600 inhabitants, there are scattered examples of its traditional colonial architecture merging with a colorful village square, quaint cobblestone roads, passing mules and a sleepy way of life far removed from the rest of the world. Your day includes a walking tour of the 18th century church, a silversmith workshop and an organic coffee farm. This expedition is not for the average tourist but for a traveler who seeks to find the real Mexico.

Fun day out of the city
San Sebastián del Oeste is very small and remote--it's a very long ride! The stops at the cacao shop and the tequila tasting were fun and broke up the trip. Our lunch that day was great. San Sebastian is cute and has some great artisan shops. Our favorite was the artists' co-op which had beautiful obsidian items, soft woven blankets and scarves, and embroidered table linens. The peanut brittle shop is also a must.
Response from the operator: Hola Regina, Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit to San Sebastián del Oeste and that highlights like the cacao stop, tequila tasting, delicious lunch, and local artisan shops made the journey worthwhile. It’s wonderful to know you discovered some of the town’s unique treasures along the way. We truly appreciate your thoughtful recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another memorable adventure soon! 😊 Warm regards,

A Day with Diego and Family in San Sebastien
The tour to San Sebastien del Oeste is perfect for those looking to learn more about local history and traditions on a fun trip into the Sierra Madre. Diego Chihuahua is a true entertainer and fantastic host for this trip, along with Julio the driver, and Jésus the photographer, who were great as well. The lunch prepared by chef Alex is absolutely incredible and really puts this tour above some of the others you might find. If you do go on this tour, just know that you don't have to buy any extras at the various stops. The offer is always there as you see the variety of artisanal goods, which give you options of souvenirs, but if that's not your thing just move along. The first stop at the bakery on the side of the road is a must try though. Do not sit that one out. I marked this as a family outing even though I arrived alone, as Diego makes sure that everyone knows you are his (and each other's) family for the day. It's not often you get to know all the people on your tour so well and make better connections than the usual passing conversation. As with any adventure keep an open mind and you will always have a better experience. Some things might not be perfect going to San Sebastian, but the guides and attitude of your family for the day make all the difference.
Response from the operator: Hola Max, Thank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and detailed review! We’re truly delighted to hear that your visit to San Sebastián del Oeste became such a memorable and meaningful experience. It’s wonderful to know Diego, Julio, Jesús, and Chef Alex helped create such a welcoming atmosphere filled with culture, history, great food, and genuine connection. We especially appreciate your kind words about the sense of family and community created throughout the tour. Creating experiences where guests feel welcomed, connected, and immersed in local traditions is exactly what we strive for. Your recommendation and positive attitude mean so much to us, and we’re honored to have been part of your adventure. We hope to welcome you back again soon for another unforgettable journey through the Sierra Madre. Thank you for choosing us!😊 Warm regads,

San Sebastian del Oeste Tour from Puerto Vallarta: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.
How much does San Sebastian del Oeste Tour from Puerto Vallarta cost?
+
Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does San Sebastian del Oeste Tour from Puerto Vallarta take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.
Is San Sebastian del Oeste Tour from Puerto Vallarta worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 339 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule San Sebastian del Oeste Tour from Puerto Vallarta?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is San Sebastian del Oeste Tour from Puerto Vallarta suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book San Sebastian del Oeste Tour from Puerto Vallarta?
+
Around 119 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does San Sebastian del Oeste Tour from Puerto Vallarta start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
