    Expensive Uber Ride

This was the most disappointing tour we've ever taken with Viator. First, the tour operator informed us that our hotel was not within the "pickup zone." So, we took a 45-minute taxi ride to the location indicated. Landry Tours picked us up on time. The driver didn't introduce himself, and we got into the van assuming he was taking us to join a larger group. We assumed this was the case as it frequently has happened on other tours. After 20 minutes of travel through the city, my husband, who speaks fluent Spanish, asked where we were going. The driver told us he was taking us to San Sebastian. The only other communication from the driver to this point was when he pointed out the prison as we drove past. We again assumed we would meet up with a larger group when we got there. After 40 minutes, the driver stopped at a bakery, finally introduced himself as Vincente, and told us we could choose a pastry and a beverage. I asked if we would be meeting up with the tour guide and other guests when we got to San Sebastian. Vincente then told we were the only guests on the tour. As we proceeded to San Sebastian, Vincente pointed out the Agave farms along the road, and finally stopped at the San Sebastian entry sign so we could take a picture. There was no other communication, no other information. Definitely not a tour guide, just a driver. After several attempts to climb the steep streets, we arrived in the city and parked the van. Vincente then led us around the city, pointing out the requirements for architecture to maintain the original designs, the jail, the town square, which was under construction, and the garrison. He then told us we could wander around the town for an hour until it was time for lunch. It was 10:30, and this was the extent of the tour. As we walked around the town we noticed fewer than 10 stores open. What were we supposed to do for an hour until it was time for lunch? We then told him that we wanted to return to PV and cut the tour short. During the return trip, there was no AC in the van, we weren't offered any water, and the driver didn't make even one comment. Vincente did return us to our hotel rather than the pickup spot, but I only knew this was happening because I was tracking our route in Google Maps. My husband and I both felt unsafe the entire time and would not have even gotten into the van had we known we would be alone with the driver. The entire experience was disappointing and definitely not worth $200.

Response from the operator: We are very sorry that you felt this way. At all times, we offered to take you to the points of interest in San Sebastián; however, you mentioned that you do not drink coffee or tequila. Therefore, we took you to explore the town instead. Unfortunately, we were not informed that parts of the town were under construction. Our guide apologized for the inconvenience, as we had not received any prior notice about the construction work taking place there. We remain at your service and appreciate your understanding.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.

How much does San Sebastian del Oeste All Inclusive Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $122 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does San Sebastian del Oeste All Inclusive Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.

Is San Sebastian del Oeste All Inclusive Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule San Sebastian del Oeste All Inclusive Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is San Sebastian del Oeste All Inclusive Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book San Sebastian del Oeste All Inclusive Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does San Sebastian del Oeste All Inclusive Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
