San Juan Island 3 Day Kayaking Tour

A great way to visit the San Juans

The only reason I’m putting 4 instead of 5 stars is that it seemed like my food preferences fell on deaf ears. Though not an allergy, it exacerbated some of my asthma symptoms. Other than that, the food was excellent, plated beautifully, and far better than I’d expect for camping. Fresh, whole foods and fruits, and fresh naan(!!). We had perfect weather, saw a humpback and orcas, seals, and river otters. Also learned quite a bit about the area as we paddled through.

Fun way to see the San Juan Islands & animals

First and foremost, our guide was incredible. Brandon was intelligent, kind, an excellent and creative chef, timely, and professional. The weather was perfect and the path he chose provided three even days of paddling enjoyment surrounded by scenery. Our group was three was combined with 4 other customers and the number was nice because it was small enough to feel personal and hear the guide but large enough to meet other outdoor enthusiasts and increase the joy and conversations. I had never heard of the San Juan Islands until my friends came here a few years back and raved about their 3-day tour with Discovery Sea Kayaks and Carly. I am so glad this all worked out and 3 days/2 nights was just the right amount of time to see and experience sea kayaking thru the islands. Our big bonus was a bioluminescence tour on night 2 which was so cool in itself (looks like glitter water!) being surrounded by glowing organisms, stars and the milky way, but we also heard a pod or two pods of orcas sleeping in the distance. We were all so amazed that we just sat in the middle of the bay for probably 30 minutes listening to the orcas come up for breaths. Wow! But all around amazing tour, the company and route was organized, high quality camping gear and boats, and Brendan was phenomenal. Thank you, Brandon!!

Exceptional Kayak Camping Experience!

We had a great 3-day adventure kayaking in the San Juan Islands with Discovery Sea Kayaks. With the intrepid and really (!) fun Zack as our guide, we went places we could never have gone on our own, spotted Orcas over breakfast, and ate like a king & queen all weekend! It was so well provisioned and organized that together with our guide’s friendly, hard working and expert skills we had a truly exceptional time! Such a special memory!

Epic kayaking & nature viewing, incredible service, perfect safety, fun and adventure.

Our camping trip was fantastic thanks to the shop and all the guides and team members, especially our guide Brandon who was unfathomably friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, skilled, patient, and fun to spend time with. Exploring the epic marine environment under your own power for a few days or a few hours is a refreshing and empowering experience like few other. The logistics, planning, adaptability, and skills needed to ensure this kind of trip goes smoothly and safely for guests' diverse needs in a sometimes unpredictable environment are so impressive! Thanks to Brandon and the team, we felt upbeat, comfortably accommodated, well fed, and safe throughout the incredible adventure. Exciting kayaking with delicious food

I went on the 3 day kayak trip with my 13 year old son. We loved the entire experience. It was work kayaking every day, but it was worth it for the views. Our guide Caleb was amazing. He was a fountain of knowledge of the local wildlife. He kept our safety in mind always. The best thing about Caleb is the food he prepared. Using just a camp stove, he prepared the best sockeye salmon that I’ve ever had.
