What you get

    About this experience

Leave the fog and the cable cars behind for two days in the high country, where San Francisco gives way to some of California’s most legendary scenery. You head east into Yosemite National Park for an afternoon among sheer granite walls, thundering waterfalls, and quiet meadows, with classic sights like El Capitan and Half Dome rising overhead. After a comfortable overnight stay, day two carries you south to Kings Canyon National Park, where giant sequoias tower over deep, glacier-cut canyons in the southern Sierra Nevada. It is a refreshing reset of fresh mountain air, big trees, and bigger views before the easy drive back to the Bay.

    Economic trip

Two days’ schedule visiting two places is tight, but Peter is very friendly, he bought water, helped taking pictures and arranged housing efficiently.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your feedback! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed the service we've provided! We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit!

Large sightseeing bus trip for Chinese tourists.

It was supposed to be English-speaking and small, but it was actually a large Chinese sightseeing bus with 45 to 46 people, all Chinese tourists except us. The majority of the tour was good Chinese, and the tour was rather good, but it was a disappointing tour with very little English.

    Response from the operator: ごフィードバックありがとうございます。当社は国際旅行会社として、世界中からのお客様、アジア中国を含むお客様を歓迎しております。この団体には多くの中国人の参加者がいたため、英語と中国語が話せるガイドを割り当てました。ご不便をおかけして大変申し訳ございません。今後は異なる言語背景を持つお客様の体験により一層配慮し、サービスの細部を向上させ、皆様に素晴らしい旅程をお楽しみいただけますよう努めます。

Well organized 2-day trip to yosemite and Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park

Great tour, it's exactly what I was looking for. Antony was a great guide, very friendly and knowledgable. The driver was also excellent, I always felt safe. The bus itself was very clean. Antony and the driver are also both very organized, and the trip is planned out very well. The hotel you stay overnight, also perfectly clean and nice. Honestly, this is as good as it can get for such a 2-day trip. What you will get from this tour is a glimpse of yosemite and the kings canyon & sequoia national park. For obvious reasons, most of your trip will be within the bus due to the distance from SF to these parks. This tour is the most efficient way to visit them in two days while getting the most out of it.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your feedback. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed the services we've provided!

San Francisco: Yosemite and Kings Canyon 2-Day Tour with Hotel: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oakland.

How much does San Francisco: Yosemite and Kings Canyon 2-Day Tour with Hotel cost?

    +

Prices start at $458 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oakland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does San Francisco: Yosemite and Kings Canyon 2-Day Tour with Hotel take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oakland is not rushed.

Is San Francisco: Yosemite and Kings Canyon 2-Day Tour with Hotel worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Oakland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule San Francisco: Yosemite and Kings Canyon 2-Day Tour with Hotel?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is San Francisco: Yosemite and Kings Canyon 2-Day Tour with Hotel suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book San Francisco: Yosemite and Kings Canyon 2-Day Tour with Hotel?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oakland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oakland and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does San Francisco: Yosemite and Kings Canyon 2-Day Tour with Hotel start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oakland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oakland?

    +

Oakland covers bay sailing and kayak trips on the estuary, Lake Merritt walks, food tours through Temescal and Fruitvale, and easy access to Berkeley and wine country. On Outty we rank every Oakland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Yosemite National Park & Sequoias Private Tour from San Francisco, Black Food Tour - Downtown Oakland, Ruth Bancroft Garden General Admission Ticket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oakland?

    +

May to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oakland?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
