Short Wine Tour
Maria was very experienced and well versed in food and wine. She knew how to choose great samples and based on the person’s personal preferences, add the appropriate food pairings to bring out the wine flavorings. She was personable and professional
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words about your experience with Maria. We're thrilled to hear that her deep knowledge of food and wine, as well as her ability to tailor tastings to personal preferences, made your experience both delicious and memorable. Her personable and professional approach is something we value greatly, and it's wonderful to know it resonated with you. We can't wait to provide you with your next best experience!

Not a Wine Tour
This was a WINE Tasting tour. We filled out a surgery on our likes and dietary restrictions. (no dairy for us and no white wine). We got to the market place to meet up with Maria. Our first stop was an iced chocolate drink with milk. Then she took us to a store for shopping. Then in the same building, we sat down to have a wine tasting with cheese and bread. Me and my friend had to SHARE the glasses of the wine tasting. I would have expected we would have gotten our own glasses for tasting and not have to share the 2oz samples. Then Maria took us to a tea house for hot tea in the same building. How is this a wine tour? And we did not see and taste from different places. NOT what was advertised at all and I do not recommend.
Response from the operator: Hi Michael, Your frustration is completely understandable, especially since your likes and dietary restrictions weren't taken into consideration. I'm truly sorry for the unexpected turn of events and the experiences that didn't align with what you were expecting. We value your feedback and take it to heart as we remain dedicated to enhancing our services and further training our hosts. We'd love the opportunity to show you a more accurate and enjoyable experience in the future. Warm regards, Ruslan and the City Unscripted Team.

Trip to SF with my mother. Had a fabulous time. Wine tasting and a detour at a tea house while waiting for the winery.
Winery had technical difficulties, so our guide, Maria, took us to a tea house while we waited for the winery to open. Fabulous tea and food.

Maria is great :-)
Very good Tour! Maria was very knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our interests. The Embarcadero and Market building had many great shops and the tour price included both food and wine tasting! We had frozen hot chocolate, charcuterie with the wine tasting, an authentic Italian dessert, Italian soda, and espresso to finish off the tour. Since we skipped tasting local seafood we were treated to a bottle of wine to go! Maria was a very positive and informative guide. She loves San Fran and this is evident in her energy for the city. She suggested a walking route “home” (to the hotel) through Chinatown which also led us to the higher end shopping! Great walking tour! Very leisurely pace. Walked 0.9 mile to our meet up spot, 1mike on the tour, and 1 mile back to the hotel. Perfect afternoon activity!

Tasting experience with Maria
We had a great time with Maria which was an top notch guide to local wines and San Francisco in general. We also got the oppurtunity to taste local sea dishes which was a perfect match to the wines she picked to us. Highly recommended!

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
San Francisco Wine Tour with a Local Expert: 6 Tastings 100% Personalized: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Francisco.
How much does San Francisco Wine Tour with a Local Expert: 6 Tastings 100% Personalized cost?
+
Prices start at $102 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Francisco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does San Francisco Wine Tour with a Local Expert: 6 Tastings 100% Personalized take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Francisco is not rushed.
Is San Francisco Wine Tour with a Local Expert: 6 Tastings 100% Personalized worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Francisco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule San Francisco Wine Tour with a Local Expert: 6 Tastings 100% Personalized?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is San Francisco Wine Tour with a Local Expert: 6 Tastings 100% Personalized suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book San Francisco Wine Tour with a Local Expert: 6 Tastings 100% Personalized?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Francisco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Francisco and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does San Francisco Wine Tour with a Local Expert: 6 Tastings 100% Personalized start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Francisco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Francisco?
+
San Francisco packs Alcatraz, Muir Woods, Napa and the bay into day-trip range, which makes booking order matter more than anywhere else in the US. Alcatraz sells out weeks ahead, wine-country vans fill on weekends, and the best food walks in the Mission and Chinatown cap at a dozen people. Our ranking favours small groups and guides who live in the neighbourhood they walk. On Outty we rank every San Francisco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Day Trip from San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge Muir Woods Sausalito with Optional Alcatraz, Chinatown, North Beach, Little Italy: 7 Tastings & History. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Francisco?
+
September and October, the city's real summer, once the fog season breaks. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Francisco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
