A wonderful time!
A truly wonderful tour with our great guide. Jennifer was a fountain of knowledge and so much fun. The tour had a couple nice breaks and “on your own” moments that flowed well. I would definitely recommend!

A Guide Who Truly Knows Balboa Park
Our guide Jennifer made this tour unforgettable. She clearly knows Balboa Park inside and out, and gave us such rich history on how and why it was created — not just dates and facts, but the story behind it. What really impressed us was that she followed up afterward to answer some questions we thought of later. That level of care is rare. Highly recommend this tour if you're visiting Balboa Park!
Response from the operator: What a generous review — thank you so much! The story behind Balboa Park really is as interesting as the park itself and I love that you found it as interesting as I do. And yes, the questions and their answers don't stop when the tour does! Thanks again for your kind words and hope to see you back here sometime!

Jen was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable on the history of Balboa Park. This is the walking tour to take if ever in the area.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! Balboa Park really is a must and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It was a fun morning and I hope you'll be back in San Diego sometime soon!

Jennifer was a great guide for our tour of Balboa Park. Lots of fun facts about its history and an engaging speaker. The coffee stop was delicious and much appreciated rest period.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! Balboa Park has no shortage of fun facts which is one of the things I love about it. And the coffee stop is delish! So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for bringing a fun crew and I'll see you next time!

Beautiful park, interesting history, delicious drinks, and the best guide ever!
If you’re debating doing this tour, think no more and book it! Our guide, Jennifer, was the best! She was very knowledgeable about Balboa Park and its history and was also open to tailoring the tour to what our group was most interested in. The tour was very well paced. Not too fast and not too slow. I felt like I had plenty of time to take pictures of all the beautiful buildings and plants, but I also never felt like we were stuck in one spot forever. Jennifer did a great job of making the history interesting and pointing out things we probably would have missed on our own. As stated in the booking, there’s a cute little coffee stop included with your tour purchase. If you’re not a fan of coffee, don’t worry! The little cafe has smoothies, teas, coffee, and other options, so if you’re on the fence because you’re not a huge coffee fan, don’t let that stop you. Balboa Park is definitely a must-see if you’re visiting San Diego, and I’m really glad we decided to do a tour instead of just walking around on our own. There is so much to see and learn about, and the tour made the whole experience even better. All in all, my mom and I really enjoyed the tour and had an amazing time! We would definitely recommend it!
Response from the operator: What a lovely review — thank you so much! This kind of feedback means everything and I'm so glad the tour delivered on all fronts. Balboa Park has so much to offer and I love that you and your mom left feeling like you really experienced it. So grateful for the recommendation and hope to see you back here one day!

San Diego Balboa Park Highlights Small Group Tour with Coffee: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Diego.
How much does San Diego Balboa Park Highlights Small Group Tour with Coffee cost?
+
Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Diego usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does San Diego Balboa Park Highlights Small Group Tour with Coffee take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Diego is not rushed.
Is San Diego Balboa Park Highlights Small Group Tour with Coffee worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 205 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in San Diego, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule San Diego Balboa Park Highlights Small Group Tour with Coffee?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is San Diego Balboa Park Highlights Small Group Tour with Coffee suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book San Diego Balboa Park Highlights Small Group Tour with Coffee?
+
Around 72 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Diego can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Diego and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does San Diego Balboa Park Highlights Small Group Tour with Coffee start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Diego within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Diego?
+
San Diego is an outdoor-first city: whale watching from December through April, La Jolla kayak and snorkel runs year round, harbour cruises and the USS Midway, plus Balboa Park museums when the marine layer sits low. We rank water operators on group ratios and gear quality, which is where the cheap La Jolla trips fall down. On Outty we rank every San Diego experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include USS Midway Museum Admission: Valid Any Date, Taste of Little Italy in San Diego, San Diego Whale Watching Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Diego?
+
March to May and September to November, either side of the June overcast. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Diego?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
