What you'll see and do
Wieliczka Salt Mine
It is an amazing „town” created over the centuries by miners working underground. Today, we can admire its beauty while walking along corridors at a depth of 65 to almost 130 meters. An almost 3-hour walk, a dozen or so unusual chambers filled with beautiful salt sculptures, chandeliers and decorations, salt lakes and an unusual church - all this is waiting for you underground. The salt mine is also a health resort, as well as a concert hall, restaurant and an unusual church where a public mass is held every week. We'll do our best to make this day special to you.

Misleading “Private/Shared” Tour
The website was very misleading touting “private/shared” tour portion with transportation. Basically I paid for a very expensive transport to and from the venue. I could have taken an uber or taxi for 1/4 the cost. The driver didn’t take me on the tour as I assumed he would give the tour. He left me at the entrance with my ticket. The tour was with at least 30 other people. When the tour was completed, I found him at the car and he took me back to the hotel. False advertisement for sure.
Response from the operator: Dear Sir, Thank you for providing your feedback regarding your recent tour with us. We sincerely apologize that the experience did not meet your expectations, as we strive to ensure our customers are delighted with our services. I respectfully disagree with your characterization of our advertisement and would like to clarify a few points. The tour title is indeed concise, but we provide relevant details in the description to ensure our customers are aware of what to expect. We appreciate your suggestion regarding the title and will take it into consideration for future improvements. To better convey what our tour includes, here are the key features of our offering: Hotel pickup and drop-off Private or shared transport in a luxury vehicle Bottled water and local sweets/snacks Guided group tour led by a professional guide Upon your pickup, the driver outlined the tour plan and provided you with a brief overview of the surrounding area while you waited for the tour to commence. Please note that the museum dictates the start times and conditions of tours, which are beyond our control. As such, we aim to adhere to these regulations. It’s important to clarify that our driver is not the guide for the mine tour; however, the driver was present to assist you and provided information on where to meet after the tour concluded. After your visit, you were taken back to Krakow as agreed. Regarding your choice of private transport, the fee of 225 euros reflects the comprehensive nature of our service, which includes a 27% commission to the booking platform, entrance tickets, fuel and parking costs, and the driver's compensation. While you mentioned that using Uber might be a cheaper option, it’s essential to recognize that Uber typically offers only transportation without the additional services we provide. We value your feedback, and we are committed to continuously improving our offerings. Thank you for your understanding.

Our tour manager Alicja...
Our tour manager Alicja from Krakow4you made our trip. She was extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions and gave us a great overview of life in Krakow. She was also extremely thoughtful, providing us with water for our tour of the salt mines and snacks for after.
Response from the operator: I am very grateful for your kind words. We do our best to make our guests happy, so your opinion is very important to me, but also motivating me to constantly improve and improve. It was a great pleasure and honor to be able to make this day special. Thank you.

The Salt Mine in Krakow is a must-see...
It is one of the oldest salt mines in the world, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a depth of 327 meters and its corridors and tunnels reach 287 km. We saw only 1%...miners, in addition to white gold mining, carved statues with religious figures and not directly in salt and there are underground ponds and chapels. Inside there is also a real salt church where religious rites are still celebrated. In short, a wonderful salty underground world... #wieliczka #cracow #salt #crystaldisale #beatakinga #orobianco

Impressive place, boring tour.
No doubt that there were impressive amounts of salt, depths of the mine, size, all the graphics, statues etc, but hundreds of times told jokes does not refresh up or boring story.

Why this scores 47
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Salt Mine Wieliczka Tour with Private/Shared Transport: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krakow.
How much does Salt Mine Wieliczka Tour with Private/Shared Transport cost?
+
Prices start at $148 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krakow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Salt Mine Wieliczka Tour with Private/Shared Transport take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krakow is not rushed.
Is Salt Mine Wieliczka Tour with Private/Shared Transport worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Krakow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Salt Mine Wieliczka Tour with Private/Shared Transport?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Salt Mine Wieliczka Tour with Private/Shared Transport suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Salt Mine Wieliczka Tour with Private/Shared Transport?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krakow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krakow and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Salt Mine Wieliczka Tour with Private/Shared Transport start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krakow within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Krakow?
+
On Outty we rank every Krakow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Complete Cracow Bike Tour (small group of maximum 15 people!), Krakow–Zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka, Krakow: Zakopane & Hot Springs Tour with Cable Car (Hotel Pickup). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Krakow?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Krakow?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
