Spectacular views!
We had an amazing experience during our trek! Every aspect of the trip was planned meticulously by the company. A special shoul out to our guide (Juan Carlos) who was very patient and knowledgeable about the conditions on the trek. The accomodations and chef prepared meals were very enjoyble. We did a 4D3N trek and in hindsight should have chosen a longer trek given different levels of conditioning in members of our group. Loved out trip and highly recommend Machu Picchu Viajes Peru for any Andean adventure!
Response from the operator: Thank you kindly for your wonderful review Shilpa. We are thrilled to hear that you and your family had such a fabulous experience with the agency and on your Salkantay tour with Juan Carlos. We hope to see you in Cusco again soon.

JuanCa & the argentinians
Hey everyone! Mora & Tomas here. Argentinian couple that did the 2 night 3 day salkantay trek + humantay lake just because we are crazy and we asked for :). Our experience with Macchu Pichu Viajes was amazing. We booked a month and a half in advance with Freddie the owner and then met our guide Juanca the night before for a very important briefing. From the beggining it was a 100% match between the three of us! We knew we would have a lot of fun, and thats exactly what happened. Apart from the outstanding views, delicious food, and exhausting trails (that we did in record time!) Juanca became our friend. He expressed peruvian story with a lot of love and was inspiring. We laughed and shared argentinian mate, cold beers and enjoyed learning from each others culture. The organization was 10/10. Nothing to complain about and would repeat. Juanca you will be our man of honor remember 💍 plan your words! See you soon buddy.
Response from the operator: Gracias amablemente por tu maravillosa reseña Mora. Nos alegra mucho saber que ustedes tuvieron una gran experiencia con la agencia y en su tour de Salkantay y Humantay con Juan Carlos. Esperamos volver a verlo pronto en Cusco.

Never too old, just having the right attitude.
This was the holiday of a lifetime for me and I did the trek with Alpaca Expeditions. At 68 I was twice the age of the group I was with and the encouragement I got from the guides Nialton and Isact was incredible. Between the Porters, Chefs and guides this was a brilliant group, dedicated to the experience of their guests and left no stone unturned in fulfilling that role.
Response from the operator: Dear. Martin Gavin On the name of the entire Machu Picchu Viajes Peru team, I want to thank you for trusting us and sharing your excellent comment. I am glad to know that you liked the Cusco and Machu Picchu tours that you did with us. It was a pleasure to organize all your activities. We take care of every detail to make your trip an unforgettable experience. If one day you decide to return to Peru, count on us as your tours operator, The best wishes for you and best regards. Salkantay Trekking to Machu Picchu 4D/3N: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Salkantay Trekking to Machu Picchu 4D/3N cost?
+
Prices start at $700 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Salkantay Trekking to Machu Picchu 4D/3N take?
+
Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Salkantay Trekking to Machu Picchu 4D/3N worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Salkantay Trekking to Machu Picchu 4D/3N?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Salkantay Trekking to Machu Picchu 4D/3N suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 96-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Salkantay Trekking to Machu Picchu 4D/3N?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Salkantay Trekking to Machu Picchu 4D/3N start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
