Nice private tour with a great guide
Had a very nice private tour visiting chinchero, maras salt mines and moray terraces. Since it was only us with the guide it was very efficient and well organized. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us some great tips on what else to do in Cusco.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! We’re very glad to hear that you enjoyed the private tour to Chinchero, Maras Salt Mines, and the Moray terraces. It’s a pleasure for us that our guide could provide valuable insights and recommendations to help you make the most of your stay in Cusco. We would love to welcome you again in the future!

Great place and a great guide
The tour was great, well organized, relaxed and with a great guide (Franco) and driver (Elder). We did it in a family of 4, a couple and 2 kids (7 and 12). The place itself is amazing, much larger and impressive than it seems by the pictures. Highly recommended!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! 🌟 We are very happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed the tour and had a great experience with Franco and Edder. It’s wonderful to know that the magic of the place and the organization of the trip met your expectations. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we’d be delighted to welcome you again anytime you decide to come back to Peru for more adventures!

We had the best time on this trip. Our tour guide Franco, was incredibly knowledgeable and fun to be around. He showed us around to so many beautiful places and gave us experiences that we’ll never forget. If you ever get the opportunity to take a trip with him I would absolutely go. Hope our paths cross again in the future!

Best Tour Guide
We will not be able to have the fun and experience we had without having Franco as our guide. I checked with several tour guides before starting our trip, and I chose Franco because he was smart and responsive. He offered us competitive rates and was very knowledgeable about the region history and the culture. He took care of our transportation and arranged all of our tours to the sacred valley, temple of the sun, Machu Picchu, and rainbow mountains. He also arranged our train tickets and the Machu Picchu bus and circuit tickets. I recommend Franco for anyone who is visiting Peru. Thanks Franco!
Response from the operator: Thanks a lot. Our team feels very happy and grateful with you

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Salt Mines(Maras),Moray and Chincheros: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Salt Mines(Maras),Moray and Chincheros cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Salt Mines(Maras),Moray and Chincheros take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Salt Mines(Maras),Moray and Chincheros worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 43 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Salt Mines(Maras),Moray and Chincheros?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Salt Mines(Maras),Moray and Chincheros suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Salt Mines(Maras),Moray and Chincheros?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Salt Mines(Maras),Moray and Chincheros start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
