This was a fantastic experience for us! Everything was super arranged by PaRa Travels. From communication in advance, to food and accommodation. An Honorable Listing to our Guide Ricardo who did everything to make our experience as good as possible.

Fantastic trip and very good contact.

We had a fantastic time in Peru! Not least because of the good Service of ParaTravels. We have booked several tours with them culminating in the 5-day Salkantay Trail to the Machu Picchu. Booking in advance took a lot of stress away for us during the trip and once we arrived in Peru the prices of ParaTravels actually turned out to be very low. Next door, the contact with them went very well. Where they gave us good advice on the different tours before the trip, so that we could put together the trip that best met our wishes, they were also very helpful during the trip. For example, when we were supposed to be picked up for the Sandboarding and Buggy Ride Tour in Huacachina, the tour guide had arrived much earlier than the agreed time. As a result, no one was standing when we finished and we would miss the tour. Fortunately ParaTravels was easily accessible and they had made sure that the tour guide came back again so we did not have to miss this spectacular tour. All in all, we had a great trip and are happy to have booked with ParaTravels. We can only recommend them!

Communication for payment is good, after payment is bad

We booked the salkantay trek through paratravels. The communication beforehand went well and was responded quickly. After we arrived in cusco and reported to a tour operator she worked with, the discussions started. We had booked the trip in euros and had to pay in dollars, for this they used a higher exchange rate than was valid at the time. We would be compensated for this but this never happened We had to pay extra for the sleeping bag. However, this was included in our base price. Then we got paratravels on the phone, according to them we would not have paid for the sleeping bag. After I sent the communication, I got no response. The trek itself was carried out by another organization. So our contracts have been sold on. Luckily this organization had everything right and we had a nice appetite.

Jammer dat bovenstaande mogelijk een zure nasmaak heeft gegeven. We werken altijd met een vooraf betaald bedrag en een bedrag dat lokaal in Peru betaald moet worden. Dit laatste bedrag is vanzelfsprekend niet in euro's, maar in USD of in Soles. Dit wordt duidelijk gecommuniceerd vóór, tijdens en na de boeking. Op het moment van boeken ga je akkoord met een bedrag in USD die wordt berekend op basis van de wisselkoers inclusief transactiekosten ten tijde van het specifieke boekmoment. Wij kunnen niet voorspellen wat de koers is op het moment van je tour/de betaling aan onze collega in Peru. Het is voor iedereen vervelend dat er daarbij op dit moment wisselkoersen zijn die heel snel wijzigen. Onze excuses als dit toch onduidelijk was rondom jullie boeking. We hebben jullie compensatie aangeboden voor de onduidelijke communicatie omtrent de slaapzakken. Deze zijn nooit inbegrepen en dit staat ook overal vermeld. Door een fout bericht van onze kant was dit echter onduidelijk. Hiervoor nogmaals onze oprechte excuses. Als reisbureau werken we samen met andere tourorganisaties. Fijn om te horen dat de tour goed is bevallen en we hopen dat jullie wel met een positieve blik kunnen terugkijken naar de mooie Salkantay Trail. Team PaRa Travels

Do not book through PaRa Travels

The Salkantay trail is fantastic. I don't see the added value of PaRa travels at all. You're only paying for marketing this company. Prior to the draw, I was referred to a location for the briefing. I arrive at a location at a random agency where PaRa Travels is nowhere listed and where the contact person was not present until 2x. Booked including sleeping bag. Unfortunately, my guide on location knew nothing about this. After a bit of confusion, he managed to work something out. Many things are exclusive: excluding water, excluding toilet paper, excluding carrying luggage on the 4th day. This costs extra money every time and was not mentioned anywhere. (From fellow travelers I know that there are many affordable agencies that do have this inclusive) On the last day I was not on the list to go on the bus, again my contact in Peru was not available. Luckily I had my papers in order and they took me away. And all this while I thought I had deliberately chosen a professional organization (also during the draw). During the draw I was also stuck with people who had paid only $175 dollars incl. Sleeping bag. Or while, contact a local agency in Cusco! It is a fantastic trek but booking through PaRa Travels has no added value.

Graag hadden we hier samen verder over gesproken om tot een eventuele oplossing te komen. Allereerst, onze excuses dat er wat is misgegaan in de communicatie tussen José in Cusco en ons. Dat is niet waar wij voor staan en we willen juist eventuele zorgen in Peru uit handen nemen. Waarschijnlijk is er iets misgegaan bij het doorgeven van de lijst voor de bus, gelukkig dat dit uiteindelijk goed is gekomen. Met betrekking tot de afspraak met José is het natuurlijk erg vervelend dat jullie elkaar 2 keer zijn misgelopen. Helaas was het niet gelukt om met jou -zoals met iedere klant van PaRa Travels- een specifieke tijd af te spreken zodat dit niet gebeurt. Soms is hij aan het pauzeren of naar een andere tour-briefing. Wij hadden hier strakker op moeten zitten om dit te voorkomen. De toegevoegde waarde die wij bieden zijn wij verder heel open over en staat ook vermeld op onze website. Wij zijn een reisbureau dat door ons lokale contact tours ver van te voren voor je kan vastleggen zodat je zeker bent van alle benodigde tickets. Zo hebben we ook voor jou kunnen zorgen dat we in een drukke periode bij de Machu Picchu, alles hebben kunnen reserveren zoals gewenst. Je hebt daarbij in Cusco niet hoeven zoeken naar een organisatie én was zeker dat je geen nep-tickets kocht. Daarnaast hebben we vóór én na de tour middels korte lijntjes contact met je gehouden. Zo hebben we een hoop contact gehad via email om antwoord te geven op al je vragen, en hebben we snel gereageerd en daarnaast een oplossing gevonden toen je niet op de buslijst stond. Als laatste kunnen we aangeven dat consumenten van een Nederlands reisbureau erg goed beschermd zijn. Dit is wat geen enkel reisbureau in Cusco aan kan bieden. Hoewel we voor online, vooraf geboekte tours vrijwel de goedkoopste zijn, betaal je voor dit alles wel wat extra ten opzichte van een lokale boeking. Nogmaals onze excuses dat e.e.a. niet is gelopen zoals gehoopt. We hopen dit geen effect heeft gehad op je herinnering aan de fantastische Salkantay Trail. PaRa Travels
