BEWARE - TOUR WAS NOT AS ADVERTISED
Tour was NOTHING as advertised - BEWARE So once again I had the unfortunate experience of booking with a third party vendor to book an experience with in the great country of Mexico what made this so disappointing I will explain shortly but first I must say that the third party companies are getting very crafty and how they sell packages and false experiences. I stayed at temptation resort in Cancun Mexico had a great time there and was approached while I was at the pool by a young lady who was selling these tour packages. I do consider myself an expert when it comes to travel but sometimes before short at the waistline and this time they got me. I usually am skeptical about booking tours from people on the beach so I didn't do that but I was on the grounds of the resort when I was approached by this employee from MTS Cancun. On a Saturday evening I booked what I believe it would be an Catamaran tour to Isla mujeres from Cancun. I was offered a tour that was priced at $79usd per person but as I have taken this tour before I remember lots of families on board to include way too many kids. I asked if there was an ADULT ONLY tour and was offered a Catamaran Adults only tour at a rate of $100usd Per Person +$24usd pp "Port fee". The representative named Gina was very nice and professional, she presented the package as adults only tour crews above a catamaran that went from Cancun to Isla mujeres with open bar and open bar at the island that arrived at an adult only Beach club that also included food and an open bar. She even went as far as sending me a video of what the actual tour is like which included a DJ and a bunch of adults partying on the island which I thought was pretty cool and saw me on the package from there I met her in the hotel lobby to which she charged me $200 plus US dollars for the tour which was supposed to leave the next day on Sunday at 1pm what's a check in time of 12:30 in the afternoon. I arrived at the dock at 12:00 check did my thing there when it was time to board the boat there were several boats leaving at the same time I was a little nervous because I did see a lot of families and children but it ended up being a different boat called just amazing I got on that boat and it appeared to be adults only on the boat. When we took off the boat pulled up to a dark wooded area where people jumped off to engage in snorkeling which I didn't do. The "open bar"on the boat was NOT in fact open bar as related. What was served was unlimited Beer, an orange drink apparently mixed with tequila and a blue drink apparently mixed with vodka. I tried the orange and it was definitely not to my liking so that was it for me for the drinks for the remainder of the trip. From there we cruised to a dock on isla mujeres which I was very familiar with. It was filled with people of all ages to include infant babies and some seniors who were wheelchair bound. This was no "Adults Only Beach Club". There was NO live DJ. The food was buffet style of pastas and some other options I give a 4 outta 10. The drinks at the bar were limited and watered down and the amount of kids everywhere was insane. There was an option for a Golf cart rental which they claimed took you around the island. That was $70usd and lasted about 1hr. My Cart broke down 3x on the "Tour". We made 1 stop and the rest was just cruising on the islands coast with ZERO Explanation of where we were or what we were seeing. Complete waste of money. The remainder 2hrs Was literally a wait to get back on the boat and leave. I immediately sent a message to the MTS Rep Gina explaining concerns and complaints and she advised she would let her manager know. When we got back to Cancun I filled the crew (Flippy & The Boys) who did a great job despite the trip that wasn't what I purchased and that was that. The next day I went back to the MTS desk located in the Lobby of Temptation resort and met Gina since I never got a solution. She advised that her manager would provide a voucher that's good for one year for the same exact trip. Refused my refund. Assumed I would travel back to Mexico within a year and not sure why I would attempt to take the same exact tour that wasn't as advertised!? I relayed that a credit for the exact amount paid would be a better option since a refund was being denied but even that was denied. Complete and utter lack of customer service and a complete sham and sale of fraudulent service. I will never again book with this company ever again.
Response from the operator: Hi, thank you for sharing your Isla Mujeres tour experience with us again. We're truly sorry that what was promised at the time of sale, from the itinerary to the beach club, the drinks, the food, and the golf cart, wasn't delivered as expected. We understand your frustration, especially after trying to find a solution with Gina and at the front desk without getting a satisfactory response. Your experience gives us an important lesson: we need to strengthen the clarity of the information communicated when selling these packages, as well as timely follow-up on cases like yours. We're already reviewing this with the appropriate team to prevent it from happening again. Thank you for your patience and for giving us the opportunity to hear you out.

Alan Garduño excellent host. Too bad about the catamaran company, if we'd been taken care of like Alan did, he'd have been fascinated.

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sail to Paradise Catamaran Tour with Snorkel and Beach Club: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Sail to Paradise Catamaran Tour with Snorkel and Beach Club cost?
+
Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sail to Paradise Catamaran Tour with Snorkel and Beach Club take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Sail to Paradise Catamaran Tour with Snorkel and Beach Club worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sail to Paradise Catamaran Tour with Snorkel and Beach Club?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sail to Paradise Catamaran Tour with Snorkel and Beach Club suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Sail to Paradise Catamaran Tour with Snorkel and Beach Club?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sail to Paradise Catamaran Tour with Snorkel and Beach Club start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
