    Authentic Immersive cultural experience

This was everything and more than I had hoped for! We were greeted with flowers petals and large smiles which reflected the attention and engagement for the entire day. It was a true cultural immersion that felt truly authentic and sincere. It not only included a full experience of weaving appropriate for beginners but also natural dying from leaves gathered in the nearby land, song, dance, homemade delicious food which included tropical fruit tastings. This was definitely a highlight in my trip to the Sacred Valley. I would recommend to everyone. Even the husbands of crafting travelers!

Weave one-on-one with a native Quechua weaver

I loved this excursion! I am a hobby weaver and having the chance to learn how to use a traditional backstrap loom from Quechua weavers was a dream come true. The experience was well organized, with for guests, for weavers, and Edwin (our translator and organizer). The opportunity to work one-on-one with a weaver was invaluable as we were walked through spinning, dying, and weaving our own small projects. The included lunch was delicious and gave us the chance to talk with Edwin and the women about their weaving, their lives, and their culture. This experience was my favorite part of my whole Peru adventure.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt and detailed review! ❤️ We’re absolutely delighted to hear that this experience became one of your favorite parts of your entire Peru adventure. As a hobby weaver, it’s wonderful to know that you had the opportunity to learn directly from Quechua weavers and experience traditional spinning, dyeing, and backstrap weaving firsthand. We’re especially happy that the one-on-one time with the weavers allowed you to connect with their techniques, stories, and culture in such a meaningful way. We’ll also be sure to share your kind words with Edwin and the wonderful women who shared their knowledge and traditions with you. Thank you for spending this special day with us, and we hope you’ll always carry a

    Amazing

such an amazing experience!! Highly, HIGHLY recommend this one. We were picked up directly from our hotel and transported about 1.5 hours into the mountains where the workshop is. We began the workshop by learning about dying the yarn. We even got to go into the forest and collect the plants to dye the yarn. We learned about all the different materials we could use, and then dyed our own yarn. We learned how to spin yarn as well. We ate a delicious lunch and then began weaving! Each traveler in our group got a private teacher. Most of them only spoke Quechua, a native Peruvian/Incan language. Despite the language barrier, they were so patient and kind. The weaving was hard! This was such an amazing cultural experience that I would highly recommend to anyone. We learned so much and even my husband, who isn’t particularly crafty, really enjoyed it. Well worth the price.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your wonderful review 😊 We are delighted to hear that you had such an amazing cultural experience and that you enjoyed every part of the workshop 👍✨ It’s great to know that you appreciated the journey into the mountains, the process of learning about natural dyeing, and the opportunity to collect plants and work directly with traditional materials 🌿🧶 We’re especially happy to hear that you enjoyed working with the local instructors and that, despite the language differences, you felt their patience and kindness throughout the weaving experience. These cultural exchanges are very special to us 💛 Thank you as well for highlighting the lunch and the overall experience. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again in Peru for another meaningful adventure 🌄😊

    Amazing, highly recommend!

I highly recommend this workshop! Our guide Edwin, and artisans Bernardina and Sharmeli were so informative and welcoming. My friend and I had such a great experience learning about this textile tradition that has been passed down through generations. We spent the first part of the day listening and learning about the process and then were able to take part in each step of the process alongside the very skilled artisans. We loved this interactive way of learning and are so appreciative to have had the opportunity to spend the day and learn from them! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Cusco and the Sacred Valley region!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 😊 We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed the workshop and had such a meaningful experience learning about this beautiful textile tradition in the Sacred Valley. It’s great to know that Edwin, Bernardina, and Sharmeli made you feel welcome and were able to share their knowledge and skills in such an engaging, hands-on way. This type of cultural exchange is very special to us, and we’re glad you were able to be part of each step of the process and truly connect with the tradition. 🧶✨ We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again for another authentic experience in Cusco and the Sacred Valley!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Sacred Valley Textile Workshop – Dyeing & Weaving in Cusco cost?

    +

Prices start at $149 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sacred Valley Textile Workshop – Dyeing & Weaving in Cusco take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Sacred Valley Textile Workshop – Dyeing & Weaving in Cusco worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 100 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sacred Valley Textile Workshop – Dyeing & Weaving in Cusco?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sacred Valley Textile Workshop – Dyeing & Weaving in Cusco suitable for kids and families?

How far in advance should I book Sacred Valley Textile Workshop – Dyeing & Weaving in Cusco?

    +

Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
