Must go with this amazing professor guide

Our guide is an excellent knowledgeable professor with three majors in history, tourism and business. We skip Al the long line and got the wealth of knowledge and experience that only the private local tour company can have! 5-Star!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your wonderful 5-star review! We are truly grateful for your kind words about our guide and for highlighting the value of a private, local tour experience. Knowing that you enjoyed skipping the lines and gaining deeper historical insight means a great deal to us. It was a real pleasure to host you, and we sincerely hope to welcome you back to Madrid for another unforgettable experience. Warmest regards,

    Fantastic Visit with Hernan

Hernan was our guide and he was excellent. I have pulmonary fibrosis so he insisted on pushing me in a wheelchair (I have difficulty with stairs so we were able to take the elevator). Hernan was wonderful at pointing out details that I might have missed and arranging our position so that I got great photos. He was very knowledgeable about the history, the art (look at Tiepolo’s airy clouds for example), and the decoration. To top it off, he refused a much merited tip. Hernan was just the best guide we could have had for the Royal Palace. I have to mention that I’ve visited a lot of Palaces including Versailles and this palace is definitely worth a visit.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us, and especially with Hernán. He will be very happy to know that his passion and knowledge made your visit memorable. Your kind words mean a lot to us and motivate our team to keep giving the very best to our guests. We would be thrilled to welcome you back whenever you return to Madrid! With gratitude and warm regards,

    Best Tour Guide in Spain!

Marta was the best Tour Guide we have met in Spain. She took us on a 5 x hour walking tour of The Royal Palace & El Prado Art Gallery. She was incredibly knowledgeable, informative and very personable. She managed to look after 23 people & to engage with everyone for the entire time. A truly memorable day, thank you Marta!

Response from the operator: Dear Bonnie F, we're glad you enjoyed your tour with Marta, but we'd like to clarify that at Madrid Museum Tours, we don't have a guide named Marta, nor do we conduct group tours. We only offer personalized guided visits for individual travelers. Therefore, it would be helpful if you could post your positive review on the appropriate website to make Marta happy when she reads it.

Royal Palace of Madrid private tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.

How much does Royal Palace of Madrid private tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $340 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Royal Palace of Madrid private tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.

Is Royal Palace of Madrid private tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Royal Palace of Madrid private tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Royal Palace of Madrid private tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Royal Palace of Madrid private tour?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Royal Palace of Madrid private tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Madrid?

    +

On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Madrid?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Madrid?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
