Amazing experience with Arctic circle snowmobile park team
Amazing experience with Arctic Circle snowmobile park team. Very well planned and executed. We saw the clear Northern lights within just 1/2 hr, they stopped at an amazing bridge on top of river for clear view. Then went for a bonfire with some biscuits, marshmallows and hot drink. They explained in detail. Then we took off to visit frozen lake which was awesome. Worth the price. Highly recommended.

Very good
The tour guys were very friendly and helpful. We went to two locations and took amazing pictures, later we went to a hut in the danta claus village and ate some marshmallows and chatted, looked at the reindeers too. It was an amazing experience, the tour guys even took out photos. It was very good and they also provided us with termal clothes boots and gloves and I actually never got cold.

Worst Ever Northern Lights Experience
Northern Lights by bus. I’ve done approx 4 or 5 Northern Light trips and this was the worst. They said we would make 3 stops and we only stopped twice. When we did stop none of the 3 “guides” told us nothing about the lights and they just “hung out” talking to each other. On other trips the driver and guide have been looking in their phones trying to find a place that had activity and would make an effort to drive to other well known sighting places. This group did nothing to try and find a showing. We didn’t actually go very far out of the city. BTW I’ve never seen the lights so I’m not complaining about that. But other tour operators have made an effort to at least track them down. This was the worst experience ever! Don’t waste your money on this.

Just a tick mark.... no real experience provided, only transport
Do not recommend this tour as the company takes you on a large bus to 2 spots which are just 15min from the city center ...not in a secluded area. There are no guides ... just ushers who accompany the bus... The first stop was near some lake where you wait for 20min and then they hurry to the bus to take you to the raindeer and husky farm which is all lit up ... they light a fire, give you marshmellows .. wait another 20mins and then we are off. Recommend you pick a small group provite tour, where the guides explain stuff and they are interested and make an effort for people to see the northern lights. Also a better way to see and experience the northern lights is to book on the glass igloos ... thats where we saw the lights

Bad Customer Experience
Our contact, Nick, from Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park, stopped responding on WhatsApp; very unprofessional. I sent him three text messages and called three separate times without a reply or call back. Very bad customer experience.

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.
How much does Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.
Is Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable nightlife in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?
+
On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
