A great experience
A great experience. We were taken 40min to a farm where you had the feeling that the dogs were well taken care of. It didn't seem as commercial to us as with vendors closer to Rovaniemi. The musher/owner explained and told a lot. All questions have been answered.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful feedback! We are so glad you enjoyed the journey to the farm and felt that the care for the dogs was our top priority. ❄️🐾 It is very important to us that the experience feels authentic and personal rather than commercial. I will be sure to share your kind words with the owner and the mushers—they love sharing their passion and answering all those curious questions about life with the sled dogs! We hope to welcome you back to the forest again soon. Warm regards, Eppu / Rovaniemi Insider

Fun experience with fantastic dogs in a beautiful settting
We began our trip at the Rovaniemi Insider office where people who needed it were equipped with outdoor clothing. We then boarded a coach and had a cosy, comfortable journey to the sled dog kennels. On arrival at Husky World we were greeted by and had a lesson from Mila, Husky World owner, about how to drive the sleds. The group was then split into two smaller groups. My family were in the group that went out for the husky ride first. As two adults with two children (tween and teen) we were happy to split up, and were allocated a sled for each adult, with one child riding in each sled. We met the dogs, got ourselves set up on the sled, and then we were off! The dogs were so excited to go. The sled ride was absolutely amazing! The dogs clearly knew what they were doing, but this was not a passive experience, and as drivers we needed to be alert to controlling the speed of the sled and sometimes helping out the dogs on some of the hills. The whole experience of being with the dogs, racing through the snowy forest scenery and the feel of driving the sled was fantastic. After the ride we swapped over with the other group and enjoyed watching them set off before having a tour of the kennels. We then headed into the cosy wooden hut where we warmed ourself around the fire and were served delicious hot juice and a very generous supply of yummy gingerbread / biscuits. Another of the owners told us about, and answered lots of wide-ranging questions about sled dogs and other aspects of living in Lapland. During our time at Husky World we had lots of opportunities to spend time with the dogs, both before and after our ride. The dogs were friendly and . Throughout every aspect of our visit, including through their interactions with their dogs, their instructions to us as visitors having sled rides with their dogs, and the passion with which they spoke about their dogs, it was clear how much care and resoect the Husky World team had for their dogs, and how the wellbeing of the dogs was their top priority. Although our children were too young to drive sleds themselves (only adults can do this) they also loved the sledding experience and being around the dogs. This was a fantastic trip. The experience of driving a sled, meeting the dogs, finding out about sled dogs, riding through the gorgeous snowy forest landscape, tasting the yummy hot juice and sharing this with my family was all wonderful. I am really happy that we booked this trip with Rovaniemi Insider and that our experience was with the Husky World team. Our guide Jess helped this trip run smoothly. NB. The Rovaniemi Insider office could benefit from more seating for visitors to use whilst waiting to meet their guide and for other guests to be kitted up etc.
Response from the operator: What a wonderful and detailed account of your family adventure! We are so happy to hear that the husky sledding was a highlight for both the adults and the children. ❄️🐾 It is especially heartening to read your observations about the Husky World team. Mika and the rest of the crew take immense pride in the well-being of their dogs, and knowing that their passion and respect for the animals was so evident to you means the world to us. We’re also glad Jess helped everything run smoothly and that you enjoyed the "yummy" gingerbread and hot juice by the fire! Thank you also for the constructive feedback regarding the seating in our office. We are always looking for ways to make the "kitting up" process more comfortable, and we will certainly look into adding more benches for our guests. We hope these memories stay with your family for a long time! Warm regards, Eppu / Rovaniemi Insider

Very cold -32° and inadequate clothes
The excursion is a great one but when the weather conditions are extremely cold as it happened to us you have a very hard time especially if you are not offered mittens as the hands tr are left on the edge of freezing and the feet the same... You should see that everyone is wearing proper clothes. We didn't realize that some people were given mittens... We Spaniards don't know...the guide didn't try very hard to translate either...
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you found the excursion amazing, but we are truly sorry to hear that the extreme cold caused you such discomfort. ❄️ The safety and warmth of our guests are our top priorities. We provide thermal gear and mittens specifically to prevent these issues, and we regret that there was a misunderstanding regarding their availability. We also take your comments about the language barrier and the guide's support seriously, as we want all our guests to feel well-informed and cared for regardless of their native language. We will use your experience to improve how we monitor our guests' gear and communication before heading out into the Arctic elements. Warm regards, Eppu / Rovaniemi Insider

Fatal-a robbery
Too bad, a mega bus of people of a thousand nationalities. The tour is not in Spanish nor does anyone speak!! Nobody listens to me to explain anything. There are 2 groups and you have to wait a long time for the rest of the activity to end, a waste of time. Besides we felt less than other nationalities, they passed us. Huskies are in cages and they don't look good...
Response from the operator: We are very sorry to hear that you felt overlooked and that the group size and waiting times impacted your experience. This is certainly not the level of personal attention we aim to provide to our Spanish-speaking guests. ❄️ Regarding the huskies, we take animal welfare extremely seriously. We are proud to work with the Husky World team, who recently won the Best Dog Care Award at the Lapland Quest competition. This award recognizes their world-class standards in health, happiness, and living conditions for the dogs. We appreciate your feedback regarding the coordination between groups and the language support, as it helps us improve our logistics for future tours. Warm regards, Eppu / Rovaniemi Insider

Is Rovaniemi Insider: 10 km Husky Self‑Drive Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Rovaniemi Insider: 10 km Husky Self‑Drive Adventure?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. +
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?
+
On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
