Our Rome in A Day Private Tour is a tour from your accommodation in Rome designed to cover the beautiful city of Rome's most significant ancient Roman monuments (such as the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, Roman Forum), famous piazzas (Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps), the magnificent ST Paul Outside the Wall. The Circus Maximus is the large ancient stadium where chariot races were held for the pleasure of Roman citizens and royalty. Piazza Della Rotonda
Once an ancient pagan temple of all Roman gods. Several centuries later it became a Christian church and burial place for Italy's kings and notable artists such as Raphael. It is the best preserved of all ancient Roman buildings, and perhaps the best-preserved building of its age in the world. The Pantheon is the oldest standing domed structure in Rome as well as in continuous use throughout its history. NOTE that it is possible that the Pantheon might start charging admission tickets. Trevi Fountain
Trevi fountain is the largest Baroque fountain in the city. Legend has it that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they will be assured a return to Rome. The current interpretation is that two coins will lead to a new romance and three will ensure either a marriage or divorce. Another current version of this legend is that it is lucky to throw three coins with one's right hand over one's left shoulder into the fountain.

The Spanish Steps is where you will find the famous 18th-century winding steps that connect the square below to the French church of Trinita dei Monti above. Below is the early 1600’s Baroque fountain, “Fontana Della Barcaccia”, or “The Fountain of the Old Boat”, a type of shallow boat popular for carrying wine to the port of Ripetta. The unique fountain is credited to Pietro Bernini, the father of the famous Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

Great way to see the highlights of Rome
We were told Stefano tours were first class in providing a private look at Rome. Our guide Vinnie and Vatican guide Luiza were first rate. We were picked up at our hotel promptly and went right away to St .Peter's and Trevi fontain to avoid the tourist crowds. The rest of the day was a trip to the popular sights and included a trip to the Catacombs as we did the Colosseum the day before. Vinnie took us to a wonderful lunch spot. Our Vatican tour focused in its highlights and Luizangave us a great history lesson along the way. And the company was easy to communicate with via email all of the time. Highly recommend Stefano!
