    Unforgettable Taste of Roatan Culture

This cooking class and cultural experience was one of the highlights of our trip to Roatán! The cultural portion was so insightful, and we came away with a much deeper appreciation for the island’s history and traditions. Both of our hosts were enthusiastic and engaging, and you could truly feel the pride and energy they had when sharing their culture and history with us. Our cooking teacher was fantastic: incredibly patient, encouraging, and a joy to work with. And the food? That was just the cherry on top. Everything we made was delicious, and it was so rewarding to enjoy a meal we had learned to prepare ourselves. A helpful tip for future guests: If the website says they don’t pick up from your location, reach out to the host and ask anyway! We were staying at Barefoot Cay and assumed we’d need to arrange our own transportation, but they were happy to pick us up. It made the whole day so much easier. We enjoyed every minute of this experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting Roatán who wants an authentic, hands-on look at the island’s culture and cuisine. Thank you for such a memorable day!

    Cooking at it's best!

From the time we got off the cruise ship it was a great experience! Reny was the attentive gracious host to the 4 of us to the point of making sure his car was spotless and he stayed with us the entire time making sure we had the best experience. Louis and his team made us feel at home as he told us about the culture and history of Roatan. And the cooking class was such a great experience! I would highly recommend Roatan Five Stars tours!

Sloths, Monkeys, and Honduran cooking class

We did a morning excursion starting with the monkey & sloth experience, and finishing with the cooking class. I would suggest doing both. The sloths and monkeys were a hoot. We got to pet the sloths and get in the monkey cage. Being a little germaphobic, I was initially uncomfortable, but I decided to get in. A monkey jumped right on my head and it was precious. We then went and learned to cook a Honduras meal. The team was incredible, and the food was over the top. It's one of my favorite excursions I've ever done, and I've done several dozen.

    Excellent

Driver picked us up outside of gate, about a 10 minute walk. Went to see the monkeys and sloths before our cooking class. Wonderful hosts, and yummy food. Learned some history of Roatan also. Nona was also there to help us out! Got the recipes and was given a lovely gift. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for something authentic and different. Much better than riding around in a bus, in my opinion! Thanks for a great experience!

Great way to spend an afternoon!

We’ve been coming to Roatan for many years now and don’t really do the tour activities at this stage. But some friends invited us to this cooking class and I’m glad we said yes. Getting to learn about the history of the island was great. The cooking part of the experience was fun and the food was delicious. One of our group members does not eat chicken yet the coconut chicken seemed to disappear from his plate! A big thank you for the wonderful afternoon.

How much does Roatan Cooking Class and Cultural Experience cost?

Is Roatan Cooking Class and Cultural Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Roatan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +
