Exactly as described but with a local expert
We had a great day in Roatan with Larson. He connected with us via WhatApp before we arrived even though this was a last minute booking. Finding him after exiting the pier would have been a challenge as the exit was packed. But we just told someone we were meeting Larson, they made a phone call, and there he was. It was the first of many instances where I could tell how well known he is on the island. The Chocolate Factory and Rum Factories are more like stores with stations explaining how it is made and providing tastings. However, the chocolate and rum were good and we got some to go. The next stop was a beach club where again Larson knew everyone. He arranged for us to have our chocolate put in the fridge behind the bar so that it didn't melt, set us up with a waiter on the beach, and was back right at the arranged time to take us back to the ship. The beach and water were amazing. So were the drinks and food! The only hiccup in our day was that his van had an issue with the fan that required him to pull over. However, his connections again proved key as after about 10 minutes of waiting he arranged for a friend of his with some extra room in their van to pick us up and take us back to the ship in plenty of time before departure. Larson, I hope it was an easy fix and you are back to business giving people tours of your island.

Love Roatan!
Larson was absolutely an amazing guide. I 100% recommend choosing him to show you all around the island. He is very knowledgeable and kind. The chocolate factory was so fun to experience and delicious! The rum factory had yummy rum cake samples and the most friendly staff!! I can’t say enough about the people here, they are all so warm and welcoming!! I will definitely be back and booking with Larson!!!

Great experience
Driver communication was excellent. He texted us about pickup point. He was there on time. Larson was very informative about island life. He is a great ambassador for his island. Great beach.

Larson was the best! Friendly, best beach spot, reliable, and comfortable!
Larson was great! He made this tour easy and my family felt safe and comfortable. When you get off the ship you must walk outside the main gate. It is intimidating as there are many locals trying to find their customers and offer tours for new customers. The best tip I can offer is that they all support one another. Don’t be intimidated or shy to speak with them. If you book your trip with Larson, many locals know him. Tell anyone that is approaching you that you are looking for Larson Tours. They will help you! Enjoy!

Roatán Rum and Chocolate factories tour for $45.00
The vans are in need of servicing. They are not new or particularly comfortable. Also this company cannot pick up the group at the pier. You have a 15 minute hike up and down hill in sweltering heat to meet the vans. We had people on our group who were not physically able to walk that long hit uncomfortable walk to the vans. Some people recently had surgery while others had a slight walking handicap. Also the tour itself leaves much to be desired. We expected to go to a rum factory. We were taken to a store that sold rum. There was no tour. We did not see how rum was made only given samples of the rum they sold in the store. The same for the chocolate factory. It was a store that sold all types of chocolate products with a stand and a person giving a 2 minute explanation of the cocoa bean. There was no factory showing how the cocoa bean is made into chocolate. The beach were were taken to was nice enough, however the prices on the food were ridiculously high, poor selection and less than satisfactory taste. When asked to be taken to a souvenir shop again the selections were limited and the prices were extremely high. All in all it was a very disappointing excursion. I would not recommend this particular excursion. The cost of the excursion was only $45.00 so monetarily it was not a great loss but it would have been better to pay more for a better excursion. If this company had better and more comfortable vehicles, and actually took the group to real chocolate and rum factories and to a better beach and restaurant and not to those tourist traps they took our group they will have a better business. The drivers were nice and courteous.
