    Enjoyable learning experience

Best experience. Gabrielle was so knowledgeable about everything and made the day so much fun

A great day visiting and swimming in some amazing waterfalls

We thoroughly enjoyed a private Rincon Waterfall tour! Our guide Gabriel and driver Jeremy picked us up near Tamarindo and started our first activity about 90 minutes later. We rode by horseback about 20-30 minutes through the woods to the first waterfall where we had a swim in the brisk clear water - so cool in so many ways! Our timing was perfect as we were the only ones there for our swim. We returned via horseback and jumped into the car to go to the second falls. A short walk and a suspension bridge led us to a spectacular, and tall, falls. Again a we enjoyed a brisk swim in the large pool below the falls. After our walk out, we drove to a set of 4 falls that we reached via a really nice walk through the woods. It was then on to a traditional (and tasty) Costa Rican lunch. From there it was time for our return to Tamarindo. What a great day! And one that was made even better with the knowledgeable and friendly team of Gabriel and Jeremy. We highly recommend these two and this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are very glad to know that the day felt well organized and enjoyable from beginning to end, and that you were able to experience each location in a relaxed and comfortable way. Moments like having the waterfalls to yourselves truly make the experience even more special. It is also wonderful to hear that the guiding and support throughout the day made a positive difference. Our team is committed to creating experiences that feel both seamless and memorable. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again for another great day in nature.

Hike, waterfall, Hot Springs, mud baths

This was one of the best excursions that my sister and I did in the 17 days that we spent in Costa Rica. Our guide Stevenson was absolutely amazing, super knowledgeable funny as heck, had us laughing all day. He helped with anything that we needed?. We saw so much wildlife, whitehead, monkeys, spider monkeys, the iguanas, snakes, beautiful birds, etc. After the hike, we did the waterfall then off to the mud baths, which both were quite amazing. The waterfall swim was so refreshing. If you get to do this tour, please ask for Stevenson as your guide, you will not be sorry. It was hard to say goodbye to him. He was that wonderful.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this incredible review! We’re truly honored to hear that this was one of the best excursions you experienced during your time in Costa Rica. Stevenson is an exceptional guide, and we’re thrilled to know that his knowledge, sense of humor, and genuine passion made your day so special and memorable. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with him they will mean the world to him. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the abundant wildlife, the refreshing waterfall swim, and the relaxing mud baths. Creating experiences that combine adventure, nature, and meaningful human connections is exactly what we strive for. Thank you again for your heartfelt recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to Costa Rica for another unforgettable adventure. Pura Vida!

    Such a fun experience

I had Allman as my guide and let me say he was excellent!! I loved this experience- I think I may even take up horseback riding as a result of this. Allman was so knowledgeable (his degree is ecotourism) and kind and fun. The food was out of this world. I was solo and they made me feel like family. Highly recommend if you love horseback riding , hiking and waterfalls!

Rincón Waterfalls Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Liberia.

How much does Rincón Waterfalls Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $175 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Liberia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rincón Waterfalls Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Liberia is not rushed.

Is Rincón Waterfalls Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Liberia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rincón Waterfalls Experience?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rincón Waterfalls Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rincón Waterfalls Experience?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Liberia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Liberia and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rincón Waterfalls Experience start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Liberia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Liberia?

    +

On Outty we rank every Liberia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure in Volcano Combo Tour! - Zip Line, Waterfall, Hot Springs and More, Sloth Watching, Coffee, Chocolate & Waterfall from Guanacaste, Costa Rica Guanacaste Airport ( LIR )Private Arrival Transfer. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Liberia?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Liberia?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Rincón Waterfalls Experience?

    +

Included: Bottled water; Lunch; Snacks; and In-vehicle air conditioning. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does Rincón Waterfalls Experience include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered, or you can meet at the start point instead from 125 listed pickup locations in and around Liberia. Be ready about 30 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.

What languages is Rincón Waterfalls Experience offered in?

    +

It is offered in English and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
